Oh I´m loving this palette of colors today! White, mustard and turquoise…arent they lovely? I know its too soon to think about xmas presents, but I´m already gathering some ideas for my sisters, specially the younger one who is studing this year in France. I´m thinking of sending her a surprise present as soon as I get her address ( hopefully you are not reading this Athenea!) ; )

I´ve had this little white clay house for a while now, maybe a couple of years, but i dont know why I never showed it here!

I thought it was about time because I really like how it came out.

It was Very fun to make. Just  give it shape with white clay and some toothpicks. Then allow it to dry and paint it with acrylics.

He tenido esta casita de arcilla blanca ya por más de dos años,pero no sé por qué nunca os la he enseñado.

Pensé que ya era hora, ya que me gusta mucho como quedó. Sólo utilicé la arcilla blanca y

unos palillos para hacer los surquitos de las tejas., luego la dejé secar y la pinté con acrílicos.

“Ser o no ser..”

I dont like to write about things other blogs I read recently did, but in this case I had to make an exception because I fell in love with this short video directed by Arkuno Kecil with music composed by David Kamp. It has all the ingredients to make me feel inside a  wonderful dream. It´s so delicate and touching and extremly beautiful..what else can  I say? I wish it lastet longer,but perhaps in its short length resides also its beauty, resembling with the haiku japanese poems. Here it is, allow your self to immerse in a magic dream just for a moment! enjoy !

Normalmente no me gusta escribir sobre cosas que otros blog que leo han hablado recientemente,pero en este caso tuve que hacer una excepción porque me enamoré de este video dirigido por Arkuno Kecil con música de David Kamp . Tiene todos los ingredientes para hacerte creer que estás dentro de un maravilloso sueño. Es tan sumamente delicado y hermoso..qué más puedo decir?  que ojalá durase más! Pero quizás en su brevedad  radique también su belleza, acorde a los poemas haikus japoneses. Aquí os lo dejo, sumergiros en él como si de un mágico sueño se tratase y  disfrutadlo!!!!

Hello! How have  you been? how was your weekend?

We had some good friends come visit us yesterday and  Mar and I had so much fun doing crafty things! Cards, pins..Wouldn´t it be nice to organize a crafting party?I ve never been to one before,but I´m guessing it must me tons of fun! Anyway, I feel like i need some color,happy colors,this morning to start the day with energy! So here´s a selection I hope you enjoy!

Qué tal? cómo habéis estado? Qué tal veustro fin de semana?

Nosotros tuvimos visitas y lo pasamos muy bien. En especial con mi amiga Mar con la que me puse a hacer manualidades. Tarjetas, pins y otras cosas que le enseñé. No sería divertido organizar una fiesta de manualidades? sé que existen,pero nunca he ido a ninguna. Bueno, pasando al mosaico de hoy..me he sentido con ganas de ver colores alegres que me den energía para empezar el día, así es que aquí os dejo una selección que espero disfrutéis! nos vemos!

Friday is here! yay!

To wrap up this week  I want to share with you today some of the works of my favorite artists. They are incredibly talented and inspiring to me. I´m sure you´ll love them too. Just to watch  these for a moment every day ,filles me with energy and joy to start a new project or a new day and think what can I do today that can be creative?

Para terminar esta semana quiero compartir con vosotros algunos de los trabajos de mis artistas favoritos. Tienen tanto talento y me inspiran muchísimo, estoy segura que a vosotros también. Mirar a estos dibujos por un momento cada día me llena de energía y alegría. Me dan ganas de dibujar y comenzar un nuevo proyecto. Necesito “crear” algo por pequeño que sea cada día.

Anoche me acostó a la 1 de la mañana terminando una ballenita a lápiz que espero enseñaros la próxima semana si queréis.

Decidme, cuál es vuestro favorito?

Theres something magic and beautiful about the bokeh effect on photography. I personally love it. Gives the photograph a special halo of softness, mystery…the blurry lights almost look like fairy dust dont they?

I´m always trying to improve my bokeh. The word bokeh comes from a japanese word that means “out of focus” or thats what i read. Its defined  as “the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light”.

It´s as “simple” as focusing something very close to the lens and then leave whats behind blurry and if theres a good light source in the “blurry background”.

I  have found via freckled face, some great tips, tutorials and photoshop brushes to achieve this wonderful effect, here are the links I wanted to share with you today. Tell me, do you love bokeh too?

Hay algo mágico en el efecto bokeh de la fotografía. Bokeh viene de una palabra japonesa que significa “desenfocado”.  A mí personalmente me encanta! le da a la foto un halo de suavidad, misterio..casi como si fuese polvo de hadas.No os lo parece?

Siempre intento mejorar mi  bokeh en mi fotografía. Yo lo he “conseguido” ( entre comillas porque aun sigo practicando y aprendiendo), enfocando algo muy de cerca, levantando la cámara luego y dejar el fondo borroso.

He encontrado via Freckled face, tips, tutoriales y pinceles de photoshop para poder conseguir mejor el efecto bokeh. a sea de forma manual o con el ordenador ( yo prefiero la manual),decidme, a vosotros también os encanta el bokeh?

De momento estos sitios están en inglés, hay algunos que se entiende porque se ven las imágenes muy claras, pero no os preocupéis que buscaré también en español para compartiroslo.

There are days like today, where the usual rhythm  of the blog seem to be interrupted by the ordinary things of life.

Like having to go to the bank first thing in the morning, getting someone to fix the fridge, having visits at home ( and all that it  implies). This blog however is the space i share  and try to write about the things I love that make me happy. The best parts of me are in this blog. And even though I may have a sad or blurry day i still dont try to get it over me and I write about what makes me feel better. It always works and is a great therapy!

I have a friend who has just started the new blogging adventure and I tell her that is almost like having a newborn at home in a sense that in order to watch him grow strong and healthy  you have to treat him with love, patience..

This day has been one of those days that even though it just started I´m exhausted!

Hay días como los de hoy, en  que la dinámica habitual del blog se ve interrumpida por las cosas del  día a día. Como tener que arreglar unos papeles en el  banco, llamar a un técnico para que venga a reparar la nevera, visitas en casa ( y todo lo que ello implica)… Este blog sin embargo es mi espacio para compartir y plasmar lo mejor de mí. Aunque tenga días tristes, me esfuerzo por escribir sobre lo que me hace feliz y siempre es una buena terapia.

Tengo una amiga que ha comenzado la aventura del blog y le digo es como tener un hijo recién nacido que si quieres que crezca fuerte y sano debes cuidarlo con amor, esmero, atención y verlo crecer poco a poco con paciencia e ilusión. Así lo veo yo.

Así es que éste ha sido uno de esos días en los que aunque comience, parece que la energía no te da para más!

Os deseo que paséis un excelente día y para los que estéis muy acalorados os mando una brisa fresca y reconfortante!

I thought it would be very fun to share with you today the “photo session” of my blog´s header.

Just a few pics of how it was made..

1.- the first thing I needed was a background so I tried using this white cardboard. I´ve always love hanging ropes, so this tiny clothespins were sure to make it!

He pensado que hoy os mostraría la “sesión de fotos” de la cabecera de mi blog.

Algunas imágenes que cómo se hizo..

1.- Lo primero es encontrar un fondo apropiado para que no se vea la pared. Y la cuerdita de tender la ropa, con las pinzas..siempre me ha encantado.

2.- I gathered a few things I had at home that I thought would look nice, like the wooden spools with the bakers twine, a little red bench..and the first “model” showed up. Her name is Lily. She was very excited to participate, but…

2.- Reunir las cositas que quería poner en el escenario como carretes de madera para los hilos de colores, un banquito rojo de barro, el dedal. Y aquí vemos a la primera “modelo” que apareció. Su nombre es Lily. Estaba muy emocionada de participar,pero..

There where other models too she had to compete with, like Claudia..a very happy girl .

tenía que competir con otras modelos, como Claudia, una niña muy alegre.

And our third option, little “apple pie”..you all know her very well!

y nuestra tercera opción, “pequeña pastel de manzana”..todos la conocéis bien!

And so she finally was the chosen one! her green tights are just too cute! not to mention the apple she has on her dress. She was very  quiet, but sweet too! So after displaying all the wooden spools, choosing a better background, changing the clothespin line for a improvised garland with fabric triangles .oh! and the metallic watering can.etc, this is what the final photo looked like:

Finalmente ella fue la elegida! Sus medias verdes eran demasiado monas! sin mencionar la manzana de su vestido. Era muy callada,pero dulce. Así es que después de montarlo todo con los carretes, un mejor fondo, y cambiar la cuerda de tender la ropa por una mini banderilla con triangulitos de tela que improvisé…ah! y añadir la regadera metálica del Belén… etc, así fue como quedó la foto que utilicé:

Dear Friends,

I ´m going to visit my sister today, and wont come back until Monday, so Friday will be a quiet one around here. But if you want you can imagine my post. Maybe some more nature photographs accompanied with few words… ;  ) ( I´m just kidding with you)

Each time I browse through Etsy or other handmade marketplace, I keep falling in love with new artists and their amazing talent and creativity.

I ´m not a person who spends a lot  money on clothes and other similar things..I rather buy craft supplies and prints or art from other fellow artists. I really value and love their work and love to support them in this way. Buying something unique, special and full of personality. Do you feel this way too?  Like some of this artist I came across today..

Voy a visitar a mi hermana hoy y no regresaré hasta el Lunes,por lo que este espacio quedará silencioso mañana. Si queréis podéis imaginar el post que escribiría. Algunas fotos de la naturaleza quizás acompañadas de palabras sencillas…: ) Es broma.

Siempre que me meto en Etsy u otros mercados artesanos on line, me enamoro una y otra vez de los artistas que descubro y su increíble talento y creatividad.

No  soy una persona que gaste   mucho en ropa u otras cosas. Prefiero invertir mi dinero en productos de manualidades y láminas u otros artículos de artistas emergentes. Realmente valoro su trabajo y me encanta apoyarlos de esta y otras formas. Me encanta la sensacion de comprar algo único, especial y lleno de personalidad. Vosotros sentís esto también?
