Camille Corot decía que el árbol es un elemento mágico capaz de unir el cielo y la tierra. Es el equilibrio perfecto. Quiero tanto a los árboles. Realmente son seres mágicos y hermosos. Llenos de sabiduría, fortaleza y misterio. A veces cuando el viento sopla moviendo las hojas de sus ramas, pareciera que hablasen entre ellos como los árboles de Tolkien… En realidad, no dudo que lo hagan  ; )

Los árboles siempre me inspiran tanto… Éste dibujo lo hice para mi hermanita pequeña. Vive muy lejos de aquí y nunca la veo,pero sé lo mucho que le gusta que la dibuje. Este arbolito es para Liz! Deseando que donde está pueda subirse a los árboles y contemplar el cielo.

Trees always inspire me SO much! this is a drawing of my little sister.  She lives far away from here and I never get to see her.  But I know how much she likes me to draw her.  And so I did.  This tree is for Liz! Hoping that where she is, she can climb a tree and gaze at the sky.

No siempre mis posts van a tratar de botones, lo prometo, pero no he podido evitar mostraros estos que una amiga me acaba de regalar. Son botones antiguos de cuando era joven. Algunos incluso son de su madre, una ancianita muy dulce.

It´s not always going to be about buttons, I promise ; ), but I just couldn´t help showing you these buttons a friend just gave me. They are vintage buttons she had when she was young. Some even belong to her mother, a very sweet old lady.

Siempre que pinto, mis hijos lo quieren hacer conmigo. Solían tener todas sus pinturas en cubos como el de la foto de abajo, pero les costaba mucho trabajo encontrar el color en cuestión y tenían que tirar todos los colores al suelo o encima de la mesa.  Por eso cuando fuimos a Ikea y vi estos botecitos para los cubiertos, se me ocurrió que podían también servir para los colores de los niños. Les encantó! y a mí también. No sólo es fácil encontrar lo que buscan sino que recoger es lo mejor!

Every time I paint, my kids want to join me. They used to have their painting supplies in buckets like the one shown below, but it was always hard for them to find the colour that they need it with out having to throw all the colors on the floor. That´s why when we went to Ikea and saw this storage solution for forks and spoons, I thought of the kids and how we could use it to put all their art supplies in here. They loved it! and so do I! It´s not only easy to find the colour they need but also to clean it up, no dificulty at all.

Detesto desperdiciar bolsas de plástico cuando voy de compras. Siempre llevo bolsas de tela conmigo.

Aquí en España es muy común comprar todos los días una barra de pan para la comida. Quería hacer una bolsa que fuese del mismo tamaño. Una querida amiga y yo hicimos esta bolsa para el pan. La tela es de un trozo de tela de los antiguos sacos de azúcar. Fue muy fácil embellecer con el biés y la flor de fieltro. Fue divertido hacerla y lo que es más importante, es que ayuda a reducir la contaminación de las bolsas de plástico, es nuestra prioridad en casa cuando compramos y claro, reciclar siempre! es lo menos que podemos hacer por nuestra amada tierra.

I hate to waste plastic bags whenever I go shopping. I always carry fabric totes with me.

Here in Spain is very common to buy everyday your loaf of  bread for supper. I wanted a bag just for this purpose that had the exact size. A dear friend and I worked together on this project.

The fabric is from a vintage piece of sugar sack. And it was really easy to embellish with the flower bias tape and the felt flower. It was fun to make and what´s most important it helps to reduce plastic waste which is always my priority when I go shopping or at home, where we recycle everything! It´s the least we can do for our beloved earth.

Ésto no es exáctamente un panel de inspiración, pero de todas formas me inspira. Me gusta rodearme de color y cosas que amo. Objetos que provienen de todas partes del mundo y se unen para contar una historia. Eso es lo que pienso cuando veo una pintura, una tela, una foto, una joya, un juguete…hubo alguien detrás de cada cosa que primero lo pensó y luego lo hizo. Ésto es más que obvio pero todavía pienso que es precioso y sorprendente cómo una idea se realiza. Aquí estamos rodeados de los sueños e ideas de otras personas..algunas maravillosas. La creatividad es algo tan hermoso!

Ok, so This is not exactly an inpiration board but still it inspires me . I like to surround my self with colors and things that I love. Objects that are from all around the world and come together to string a story. Thats what I think whenever I look at a painting, a fabric,a picture,  a jewel, a toy..there was actually someone behind it who first thought of it and then made it come to “life”. Well, of course this is more than obvious, but still , I think its just beautiful and surprising how an idea becomes to reality. Here we are surrounded by other people’s dreams.. , some really wonderful ones. Creativity is just such a beautiful thing!

Desde que nos mudamos a la casa nueva, sabía que quería hacer nuevos cojines para el sillón, que fueran especiales. He estado inspirada por amigos increiblemente talentosos y sus trabajos. Así es que como soy una principiante en esto de la costura, quería hacer algo sencillo como una casa, con un árbol, unas flores…

Since we moved to the new house I knew i wanted to sew our own and special cushions for the couch. I have been inspired by incredible and talented friends and their work. So, since I´m a begginer I thought of something simple like  a house with a tree, some flowers..

A veces me gusta jugar con los colores. Juntarlos y hacer combinaciones. No sólo por su belleza visual, sino por la respuesta emocional que provocan.

Creo que son maravilloso. Cómo pueden infundir tranquilidad, paz, dulzura,…o llenarte de energía y entusiasmo. Puedes combinarlos de TANTAS maneras posibles y crear ambientes tan distintos..

Éstas fotos son parte de esas composiciones cromáticas que me gusta hacer de vez en cuando con las cosas que tengo en casa. Si no lo habéis intentado ( que seguro que sí) hacedlo. Es muy divertido ver con lo que logramos.

Para mí el morado es sinónimo de un campo de lavanda o tarta de arándanos … qué rico!

Sometimes I like to play with colors. Get them together and make color combinations. Not only for it´s visual beauty, but also for the emotional response colors may suggest. I think they are wonderful. How they can infuse you tranquillity, peace, sweetness..or give you energy and cheer you up. You can combine them in SO many ways and create oh so different atmospheres.

These  are one of those color compositions I like to create once in a while with the things I have at home. If you haven´t tried doing this before ( which I´m sure you have) do it! it´s so much fun to see what you can come up with.

For me purple reminds me of a lavender field out in the country. Or also blueberry cheese cake…yummy!

Sueño con tener algún día- espero que pronto- mi propio huerto. Me encantaría tener árboles frutales y cultivar verdura orgánica, flores…Pero mientras tanto, tenemos en casa algunas macetas muy monas con plantitas que amamos mucho. Una de ellas nos ha obsequiado recientemente con una sorpresa.

Gracias fresita! nos comeremos este pequeño tesoro llenos de gratitud!

I dream of having one day- I hope soon- my own garden . I would love to have fruit trees and grow organic vegetables, flowers…But in the meantime, I have some very nice pots at home with plants that I love. One of them recently gave our family a little surprise…

Estoy empezando a pensar que quizá los jueves traten de búsquedas de cosas hechas a mano . Ahora que nos acercamos a la Navidad, es hora de considerar cómo serán nuestras compras. Compraremos todo hecho a mano? quizá sólo algunas cosas? Nunca me cansaré de escribir lo que me entusiasman los productos hechos a mano. Entre más los compro, más los valoro.

Hace sólo unos días recibí un osito de beep y fue una experiencia tan bonita. Tan bien envuelto y realmente podías percibir el amor puesto en él. hay tanta gente con tanto talento. Creo que sinceramente se merecen nuestro apoyo. Además las cosas que les compramos son autenticos y únicos tesoros. Como podéis ver, me apasiona el tema. Etsy, Paper and stitch, Indie handmade,Bigcartel, Dawanda, Artfire…son sólo algunos mercados online donde podéis encontrar a toda una comunidad de artesanos y sus bienes hechos a mano.

Así es que éstas son mis búsquedas o hallazgos del jueves, espero que os gusten!

I´m starting to think that maybe thursday post´s will be about handmade finds. Now that we are getting closer to Christmas is time to really consider how will our Xmas shopping will be. Will you buy everything handmade? Maybe just a couple of presents? I will never get tired writing how enthusiast I am of the handmade products. The more I buy them, the more I value them.

Just a few days ago I received a little bear from beep and it was such a sweet experience. It was so well packed and you could REALLY feel all the love put into creating it.  There´s so many people with so  much talent out there. I think they really deserve our support. Besides the things we buy from them are real and unique treasures. As you can see I´m totally passionate about this. Etsy, Paper and Stitch, Indie handmade, Bigcartel, DaWanda,Art Fire…are just a few online markets where you can find a whole community of artisans and their handmade goods.
