I thought I´d share some resources today.Many of you have asked me where can you buy Zakka books and other zakka related items.

I love zakka books…just the covers are to die for! Like the one shown above. It has very nice projects and I would love to make them all, but there´s one thing i do not like about zakka books….thats right: they area ALL written in japanese!!! SO unless you are an expert seamstress and can easily figure out the pattern and the instructions , you can´t take fully advantage of it´s great sewing projects. Otherwise they might become books you like to stare at once in a while and use them to take nice pictures (ehem) .Wish I knew how to read japanese! …..Anyway this are my favourite Etsy shops.

Pensé que hoy os compartiría  links de tiendas. Muchos me habéis preguntado dónde podéis comprar libros Zakka y artículos relacionados. Me encantan los libros Zakka…Sólo las portadas son maravillosas! Como la que muestro arriba. Tiene proyectos muy bonitos y me encantaría hacerlos todos, pero hay una cosa que NO me gusta de los libros zakka…correcto: están escritos en japonés!!! Así es que a menos que seas una experta costurera y no tengas problemas para entender los patrones y las instrucciones , no te servirán de nada. Sólo se convertirán en libros que te gusta contemplar u hojear de vez en cuando o que utilices para sacar fotos bonitas ( ehem) . Me encantaría saber leer japonés! Bueno de todas formas…aquí os dejo los links a las tiendas:

The first itme I read how to make little note books was reading a lovely blog named Make, Do and Send.I was really surprised at how hers came out, so pretty… really. And so I wanted to try and make one my self. I got some scrapbook paper and some white sheets and sewed everything together by hand. I did try using my sewing machine, but it was too hard and i didn´t want to force it.

Anyway this is the result, i´m pretty happy with it! my next two where for my sons, they loved them! perfect for writing a story of their own!

ps: In case you are curious the print  on the back is from a spanish painter  named Sorolla.This is one of my favourites! The original one is as big as a wall..or even bigger!

La primera vez que leí cómo hacer libretas fue leyendo un blog que se llama Make , do and send. Estaba sorprendida por lo bonitas que habían quedado sus libretas y quise intentar hacer unas.

utilicé cartulina rosa con flores para las tapas y hojas de papel. Lo corté todo al mismo tamaño y lo cosí luego a mano. No me atreví a utilizar la máquina de coser porque puse mucho papel y no era cuestión de forzarla.

Bueno, éste es el resultado! Las dos siguientes fueron para mis hijos; les encantaron!perfectas para escribir un cuento propio!El tutorial lo podéis encontrar aquí.

PD: Por si os entra la curiosidad, la pintura de detrás es una reproducción de un cuadro del pintor español Sorolla. Es uno de mis favoritos. El cuadro original es tan grande como una pared!

Me siento mejor hoy! Pero con un montón de cosas que hacer hoy en casa…eso pasa cuando las madres nos enfermamos ; ) ,pero no me quejo, este fin de semana me han cuidado muy bien!

Estoy muy contenta de postear estas imágenes hoy! Disfrutadlas y tened una semana maravillosa!

So it happened to be I was ill . A soar throat, fever…I do hope it just lasts a couple of days..That´s how yesterday came to be. But even thought Idid spend all day in bed, not everything was bad. At night my seven year old son Tuti, decided he would take care of his little brother keni- age 5- he served him his dinner, helped him put on his pj´s and even read him a bed time story. After that he told me he felt ” like a father” which I thought  was very funny and sweet. What a lovely and caring boy : )

Finalmente sí me enfermé..la garganta dolorida, el cuerpo cortado, fibre..Espero que dure sólo un par de días, no más! Así fue como ayer se desenvolvió. Pero aunque al final pasé todo el día en la cama, no todo fue malo. En la noche, mi hijo de siete años, Tuti, decidió que él cuidaría de su hermano de 5. Le sirvió la cena, le ayudó a ponerse el pijama y hasta le leyó un cuento . Después me dijo que se “había sentido como un padre” Pensé que fue muy gracioso y tierno.Qué niño tan cariñoso y dulce! : )

This would be keni eating milk with cookies…If  I´m not paying attention he might eat more than ten!

Este sería keni, tomando leche con galletas para merendar….si no lo vigilo puede comerse hasta más de diez!

There are days when I wake up wanting to do so many things…I feel full of life, of energy, of optimism, of plans…

There are other days however, when I really dont feel like doing anything. I just want to sleep or simply practice the “non doing”. I used to think it was wrong to feel this way, but I now believe both feelings are ok. We are changing beings. We are not the same every day and it´s good to accept that. The day is as beautiful as the night, the light as the darkness, sorrow as joy…and we are between them both, dancing. I want to learn how to embrace them as two parts of me, as a reflection of my own light and darkness, only that way i´ll be able to be one, to be complete in integrity, with all parts loved and accepted.

Today I see my bowl a bit empty. I´ll relax and rest, silence my mind  and feel with out holding on to anything. That way when it´s full I´ll cherish it, appreciate it and enjoy it.

Hay días en los que uno se levanta con tantas ganas de hacer tantas cosas..Te sientes lleno de vida, de energía de optimismo, de planes..

Hay otros sin embargo en los que no te apecete hacer nada. Sólo tienes ganas de dormir o simplemente de ” no hacer”. antes creía que estaba mal sentirse así, pero ahora pienso que ambos estados son válidos. Somos personas volubles y cambiantes. No somos las mismas todos los días y hay que aprender a aceptar eso. Tan hermoso es el día como la noche, la luz, como la oscuridad, la tristeza como la  alegría…Y nosotros nos hallamos bailando entre las dos. Quiero aprender a abrazarlas a ambas como partes de mí, como reflejo de mi propia luz y oscuridad, sólo así podré encontrar ser una persona íntegra con todas sus partes amadas y aceptadas.

Hoy mi tazón lo veo un poco vacío. Me relajaré y silenciaré  mi mente y sólo sentiré sin aferrarme a nada. Así cuando se llene seré capaz también de sentirlo, disfrutarlo y apreciarlo.

A little watercolor I painted yesterday…something simple that came to my mind.

Painting is like a meditation when you flow with it.

You try to put on paper a thought, a mood, a state of mind. The result really doesn´t matter. What´s important is that connection you try to make with your self, and let it come out, express it self.

Una pequeña acuarela que pinté ayer….algo sencillo que me vino a la mente. Pintar es como una meditación cuando fluyes con ello.

Intentas poner en papel un pensamiento, un estado de ánimo, de mente. El resultado en realidad no importa. Lo que es importante es esa conexión que intentas hacer contigo mismo y dejarla que salga, que se exprese.

Breathing fresh spring air, surrounded by wild flowers.

Respirando el aire fresco de la Primavera, rodeada de flores silvestres.

Enjoying long walks in the evenings and watching my son keni feel free, exploring nature.

Disfrutando de largos paseos en las tardes y observando a mi hijo Keni sentirse libre, explorando la naturaleza.

Plenty of nature…just what I love and needed

Mucha naturaleza…justo lo que quería y necesitaba.

And the beach, of course! the sun did come out and even though the water was freezing we managed to take a swim!

Y la claro, la playa! El sol salió y aunque el agua estaba congelada, nos metimos a nadar!

By the way, the place is  Cartagena a  coastal city in the southeast of Spain.

Por cierto, el lugar es Cartagena, una ciudad costera en el sureste de España.
