I have a wonderful book from Lena Corwin Called Printing By hand. I love to print! and in this book Lena explains step by step different stamping techniques. One of them of course is stamp carving. I love to carve stamps! too bad I cant find In Spain bigger carving blocks. But I bought some erasers that work just fine for small stamps. I know I´m not very good at it but I have fun and I know I will get better with time and more practice!

Tengo un libro maravilloso de Lena Corwin llamado Printing By hand ( Imprimiendo a mano) Me encanta la impresión! En este libro Lena explica paso a paso diferentes técnicas de impresión en tela, papel…Una de ellas, claro es la de carvar sellos. Es uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos.La pena es que en España no he encontrado hasta ahora bloques grandes para ello. Sin embargo compre unas gomas de borrar que sirven para los sellos pequeños. No soy muy buena en ello,pero con el tiempo y práctica sé que mejoraré.

Now time to stamp them into thick cardboard with sunny yellow ink!

Ahora a estamparlas en soleada tinta amarilla!

Cut the cardboard with a tag template ( you can find one here) and attache a string. I like this one.

It gives the tag a rustic feeling.

Corté la cartulina con una plantilla de etiqueta ( podéis encontrar una aquí)

y até un trocito de cuerda. Me gusta esta, le da un toque rustico que va bien con las flores.

I have to tell you ten things about me and then give the award to other blogs that I love!

I loved reading her´s! so funny and interesting!

Here are mine:

1.- My mom was a sociologist and she loved mithology and cultures from all over the world. That´s why she named me after the babylonian Goddess of Love.

2.-I lived two years of my life in an Ashram when I was little. One of my sweetest memories as a child.

3.- Therefore, My mother and father raised me vegetarian since I was born. And still am. I feel blessed for this : )

4.- Both my father and mother loved to paint, they were quite good! They were my earliest inspiration.

5.- But I wanted to become a ballet dancer..Even though I never took a class! ha!

6.- I have always loved art so much! But I dont have a favourite painter, I like so many of them!

7.- Because my father is from México and my mother from Spain, we lived between the two countries.We also lived in Venezuela and The United States. I think I have moved like 40 or 50 times, really! ( Many of the in the same country)

8.- I love childrens books! My favourites are from Suzy Lee, Mandata Sadat, Arnold Lobel and Marc Boutavant!

9.- I also had a funny craving like Sweetpeas when I was pregnant of my first son. I didn´t like the taste of water so I ate a watermelon per day for two months!

10.- For those of you who read my blog, you probably now this ..I LOVE nature!! I have to include this in the list or it wouldn´t feel complete!

Mi querida compañera bloguera Scented Sweetpeas me ha dado un premio! Qué emoción! es un honor!

Tengo que contaros diez cosas sobre mí y luego pasar el premio a otros blogs que me encanten!

Me gustó mucho leer sus diez cosas.Qué divertidos e interesantes!

Aquí están las mias:

1.-Mi madre era una socióloga amante de las culturas del mundo y la mitología, por eso me puso Ishtar. Por la Diosa babilonica del amor.

2.- Viví dos años de pequeña en un Ashram. Uno de los recuerdos más dulces de mi infancia.

3.- Debido a ello, mis padres me educaron siendo ovolacteovegetariana desde que nací. Sigo siendolo y me encanta! : )

4.-  A mis padres les encantaba pintar y los dos lo hacían muy bien.Fueron mi primera fuente de inspiración.

5.-Pero yo quería hacer ballet. Aunque nunca tomé ninguna clase! jaja!

6.-Siempre he amado el arte!Pero no tengo un pintor favorito, me gustan tantos cuadros y estilos!

7.-Porque mi padre es de México y mi madre de España, siempre he vivido entre los dos países. También he vivido en Venezuela y Estados Unidos.Creo que en total me habré cambiado de casa unas 40 ó 50 veces. En serio!

8.-Me encantan los cuentos de niños.En casa tengo mi propia colección. Mis ilustradores favoritos son Suzy Lee, Mandata Sadat, Arnold Lobel y Marc Boutavant!.

9.- También yo tuve un antojo muy gracioso en el embarazo de mi primer hijo.Como no me gustaba el sabor del agua, me la pasé comiendo una sandía entera yo sola, durante dos meses!

10.- Seguramente ya sabréis esto pero amo la naturaleza! Esta lista no estaría completa si no lo incluyera.

Esto ha sido interesante de escribir. Gracias Scentend Sweetpeas! lo he disfrutado mucho!

What?! It´s Thursday already! Wow! the week has gone by so fast!

A lot of things are going on right now around here!

The kids are about to finish school and I have to come up with fun and interesting things to do or we´ll all just go crazy in this apartment!

Summer here is so hot! you cant go out until 7 or 8 in the afternoon! That´s why I would LOVE to live in the country.

Let them run free, climb trees, explore nature..It would really be a dream come true for me.

Also, I´m working hard on updating my shop! More of that soon!

And we might be moving …So, as you can see I´m very busy!

But with all this things to do, I find writing in my blog so gratifying!

¿Qué? ya es Jueves? La semana se ha pasado tan rápido!

Están sucediendo muchas cosas por aquí!

Los niños están a punto de terminar el cole y tengo que pensar en cosas divertidas que puedan hacer en casa, o nos volveremos todos locos en este piso.

EL verano aquí es muy caluroso y no es aconsejable salir antes de las 7 u 8 de la tarde. Por eso me encantaría vivir en el campo!Dejar que corrieran libres, verlos subirse a los árboles, respirar el aire fresco y explorar la naturaleza…Sería un sueño hecho realidad para mí!

También estoy trabajando muy duro en actualizar ( por fin) mi tienda!!

Y para terminar, seguramente nos mudemos! Bueno, en realidad, ¡nos mudamos en dos meses!

Pero con todas estas cosas que hacer , encuentro escribir en mi blog, muy gratificante.

Hello! I´m back from Granada!!

I had such a wonderful time! My sister was so good to us! Thank you dear Athenea!

The best part besides being with her? The Alhambra of course! the only word I can say about it is that it is MAGIC.

One of the most beautiful places I´ve seen. Specially at night. I can´t really describe the feeling, it was truly something that goes beyond words, beyond beauty.

I´m sad to say though I couldn´t take any pictures. Just a few.And they are even blurry! oh my! It was getting dark and we didn´t have much time.

But, here they are..

Pasé unos días maravillosos con mi hermana que nos cuidó tan bien! Gracias Athenea!

La mejor parte a demás de estar con mi hermana? La Alhambra claro! Sólo puedo describirla como MÁGICA-

Uno de los lugares más maravillosos que he tenido el placer de visitar. Especialmente de noche. Era como otro Alhambra.Más serena y misteriosa. Realmente no hay palabras para describir algo que va más allá de la belleza.Sólo se puede sentir.

Pero siento deciros que no pude sacar casi ninguna foto por la poca luz que había y por el tiempo , ya que disponíamos de sólo media hora. Y encima salieron borrosas! Pero bueno,os las comparto de todas formas..

I couldn´t take any pictures of the nazaries palaces. But something really funny happened there..This is what I wrote later:

We went to visit the Alhambra tonight. It was amazing!!Completely wonderful! It was a special night pass to visit the nazaries palaces. They were incredibly beautiful and the night was so calmed and peaceful..PERFECT. I loved being there.So  nice to walk and contemplate the beauty and magic of that place. I didn´t have words. I just wanted to feel the moment I was living as an extraordinary gift in my life, when suddenly I hear someone telling me” mommy I want to pee”. It was my  five year old son, of course. I had completly gone with my mind to another dimension, maybe even century, when he brougth me back in a second. We could only remain in that magic place for 20 minutes until they had to close and if you wanted to go to the bathroom you had to leave- and there was no getting in again- So as a mother I said “oh, no”, but at the same time” oh well”.So We definetly had to leave.As we searched for the exit I tried to absorb all I could with my eyes.One eye looking for a bathroom and the other eye still wanting to look at the palace.While a voice kept insisting- “mommy I need to pee!!!” So that was it, we were out! And keni went to the bathroom!. All I could do was  cry or laugh so I chosed to laugh and think “this is what motherhood is all about”.

No pude sacar ninguna foto de los palacios nazaries, pero algo muy gracioso me ocurrió y os lo quiero compartir. Esto fue lo que escribí sobre lo sucedido:

Fuimos en la noche a la Alhambra. Fue maravilloso! era un pase nocturno y la Alhambra estaba increíble. Además no habia mucha gente y fue agradable poder pasear de forma más relajada. Lo malo era el tiempo. Disponíamos sólo de 30 minutos antes de que nos cerraran.
Allí estaba yo contemplando la majestuosidad de los palacios nazaries, extasiandome en su belleza y viajando con mi mente en el tiempo a otra época más antigua.Intentando imaginar el palacio entonces.Rodeado de músicos, animales exóticos…Cuando de repente escucho que me dicen” mami quiero hacer pipí” y entonces bajé a la tierra  en un segundo y miré a mi hijo de cinco añitos con carita de ” Y no aguanto más”.
Mientras buscábamos desesperadamente la salida-no fuera keni a orinar en las fuentes reales- mi mirada escrudiñaba veloz la exquisita obra andalusí queriendo retener el recuerdo en mi memoria para siempre; mientras una voz- insistente- repetía sin cesar” mami quiero hacer pipi”  y eso fue todo . Tuvimos que salir encontramos el baño y Keni hizo pipi. Podía llorar o reír. Elegí reirme y titular a esta historia ” lo que realmente significa ser madre”.

Good morning! today the sun has come  out very early and it seems like its going to be a very hot day!

Everythings is beautiful and perfect and Im having a great time with my sister and her friends.

If it wasn´t for this alergy I´m having..My eyes are so red..any natural remedie you suggest? I would appreciate it!

Anyway..tonight we are going to visit the Alhambra!!! I didn´t know it was also opened at night! it´s going to be wonderful!!

Buenos Días! Hoy el sol ha salido muy temprano y parece que va a ser un día muy caluroso!

Todo es perfecto y precioso y me lo estoy pasando muy bien con mi hermana y sus amigas.

Si no fuera por esta alergia primaveral que me ha dado..tengo los ojos tan rojos que me doy miedo! Algún remedio casero natural para calmarlos? me encantaría!

Bueno de todas formas esta noche iremos a visitar la Alhambra!! no sabía que abrían de noche, debe ser tan mágico y especial!!

Finally! After almost five hours of bus, here we are!! I feel so happy to be here! The weather is wonderful and the town center we visited today SO lovely!

HOla!! Por fin! después de casi cinco horas de viaje aquí estamos! Estoy muy contenta! El tiempo está fenomenal y hay un ambiente maravilloso en las calles! En especial el casco histórico a los pies de la Alhambra.

Estoy muy cansada y me voy a dormir ya,pero no sin anes dejaros con algunas fotos de algunos edificios viejos que me gustaron que tienen mucho encanto!

Dear friends would you like to join me on a trip to Granada? I´m visiting my little sister tomorrow! She´s studying to be a sociologist and it´s her last year in that beautiful, beautiful city! My little Son Keni is also joining me! I´m taking my laptop and have access to internet…that´s all I need to take you with me! So if you want to come with me, you are invited!
