A few week ago I stumbled upon this great reversible bag tutorial made by Novita ( who is by the way, an amazing seamstress ) from the blog very purple person

It was exactly what i was looking for! So I decided to give it a try

Hace unas semanas me topé con éste tutorial sobre cómo coser un bolso reversible por Novita ( que es por cierto una costurera maravillosa) ,del blog very purple person.

Era exáctamente lo que estaba buscando , así es que decidí intentarlo : )

I even loved it more because it was reversible! So I chose for this purpose a white and blue cotton check fabric and linen.

Me gustó todavía más por ser reversible! Así es que escogí una tela de cuadritos azules y blancos y lino color crudo.

It was my first time sewing a bag  ( all by my self) and I had so much fun!

I think it took me about three hours to finish the bag. There were I couple of steps I had a hard time figuring out how to solve, but finally I did and It came out so nice : )

Era la primera vez que cosía un bolso yo sola y me divertí mucho!

Creo que me llevó unas tres horas terminarlo. Sí que hubo un par de pasos que me resultaron difíciles,por ser la primera vez,pero una vez resueltos cobraron sentido.

I had a red flower fabric brooch I had made long time ago and I thought it would be perfect for the bag!

Tenía una flor de tela roja que había hecho hacía tiempo y fue un complemento contrastante perfecto para el bolso!

Now I cant wait to sew more! : )

Ahora no puedo esperar a coser más! : )

See the pillow cover below? well, It took me about a year to finish it! LOL Not because it  was difficult to sew, but because I had completely forgotten about it!

I had cut the fabric pieces last april of 2010 and recently found them inside a box. So it was definitely time to sew it up!

¿Véis la funda del cojín de abajo? Pues me tomó un año terminarla! jaja, no porque fuera dificil en realidad, sino porque la había olvidado!

Tenía los cuadraditos de tela cortados desde Abril del 2010 y recientemente los encontré en un caja.!!

They are a mix of japanese cotton and linen fabrics.

Son una mezcla de telas japonesas de algodón y lino.

Many of the fabric squares dont even match! But I still love it : )

I really enjoyed sewing it ( except for the zipper part). In fact I enjoyed it so much that I went ahead and sewed two more for my sons. They chose the fabrics they liked and then I left some white cotton squares for them to paint with fabric markers.

Muchos de los cuadraditos ni siqueira concuerdan,pero no me importa porque aun así me encanta! : )Disfruté mucho cosiéndola  ( a excepción de la parte de la cremallera).

Tanto que me animé e hice otras dos para mis hijos con telas que ellos mismos eligieron y dejando algunos cuadradritos en blanco ,para que con rotuladores de tela dibujasen lo que quisieran : )

Sorry for the absence! My sisters have been visiting me and we have been doing some visits to lovely places, such as Glastonbury! ( but no, we didn´t go to the festival)

Today I want to show you what I found at the flea market in this new section of the blog.

H oy os quiero mostrar mi hallazgo del rastro o mercadillo de pulgas, como he decidido llamar a esta nueva sección.

But to be honest, this turquoise kids chair, wasnt really a flea market find! it was a free find or gift from a neighbour who was going to throw it away. : )

Aunque, a decir verdad, el post de hoy lleva una mentirijilla  ,porque esta  sillita de niños color turquesa no la compré en el rastro, sino que me la regaló un vecino que la iba a tirar! jeje , así es que me salió gratis : )

My son Keni and I cleaned it and now its in his room with a matching table-also given by the same neighbour-

I think Keni is afraid I might “steal” it from him to use it as backrground to take photos..perhaps you´ll see it pretty often in my photos, because it is really charming and I love that color! ; )

Keni y yo la limpiamos y ahora está en su habitación, junto con una mesita a juego que también nos dio : )

Por cierto, creo que keni está preocupado de que me apropie de ella para sacar fotos!

Today I want to share some photos of a very nice weekend we had some weeks ago when we visited Lulworth´s cove.

Hoy os quiero compartir unas fotos de un precioso fin de semana en el que fuimos a una playa en Lulworth, muy cerquita de casa.

It was a lovely little coastal town.

Se trataba de un pueblecito costero encantador

Pretty busy in summertime

Bastante turístico en verano

with stone houses

con casas de piedra

and the beach or cove, very close

y la playa o cala, muy cerca.

It was filled with this beautiful white stones that glowed like diamons! My sons and I had a great time picking up the ones we liked most!

And taking a couple of them home to make some crafts with : )

Estaba lleno de éstas maravillosas piedras blancas que parecían tesoros. Mis hijos y yo nos entretuvismo eligiendo las más

bonitas y luego nos llevamos algunas a casa para hacer manualidades con ellas.

It was very relaxing to contemplate the ocean, but TOO cold to take a swim!

Era muy relajante contemplar el mar..pero DEMASIADO  frio para bañarse!

On our way back we stopped to buy an Ice cream!!

De regreso nos compramos un helado artesano riquísimo!

Mine was a wild strawberries Ice cream, it was delicious! but it didnt last long! and not because I ate it! It fell to the floor! : (

But , since we plan to go back, I´ll be more careful next time! : )

El mio fue de fresa con trozos de fresas enteras silvestres ..pero no me duró nada porque se me cayó al suelo nada más salir de la heladería : (

Bueno, como esta cerca de casa ,planeamos ir de nuevo y ésta vez tendré cuidado de que no se me caiga ; )

How are you! hope you had a nice weekend!

I have been pretty busy around here working on some deadlines and also with family visits showing them around the city : )

Some rain, some sun, a little bit of sewing …and cooking nice meals for the family to enjoy. I can say I had a good weekend!: )

And I feel ready to start a new one!! Today I feel inspired by these images. They transmit me calmness and simplicity in the  beauty present in nature and daily objects.

Qué tal estáis? espero que tuvierais un buen fin de semana!

Yo estuve muy ocupada trabajando en algunos proyectos que tengo que entregar y también con visitas familiares, paseando un poco y enseñando la ciudad : )

Un poco de lluvia, un poco de sol, un poquitito de costura…y buenas comidas para el disfrute de todos ( papitas con mojo traidas desde Tenerife!!! )

Sí,puedo decir que ha sido un buen fin de semana! Y estoy lista para comenzar una nueva! Hoy me siento inspirada por estas imágenes porque me transmiten calma ,belleza y simplicidad presente en la naturaleza y en los objetos cotidianos.

Que tengáis un fabuloso comienzo de semana!

When I saw this print some days ago of the  australian artist Jen Ray, its message resonated in me.

I think many many of us live or have lived situations in life that required having courage to move on.

Courage and determination to do what one knows it the rigth thing. To keep trying and for following our dreams, to make decisions.

Courage to dare BE HAPPY and mostly of all ,I would say,making a  commitment with ourselves to pursuit that.

To listen to our inner voice,our heart our intuition, how ever you want to call it, because it knows best.

I invite you to give it some thought from a lovingly attitude and comprehension . Being gentle but also brave to GO FORWARD WITH COURAGE in whatever are of our lifes : )

Cuando ví esta foto me llamó mucho la atención. Es de la artista australiana Jen Ray y su mensaje resuena en mí. Dice ” Ve hacia adelante con valor” ( coraje)

Creo que muchos de nosotros en nuestras vidas tenemos o hemos tenido cosas que afrontar que no son fáciles y hace falta valor y coraje.

Valor y coraje para hacer lo que uno sabe que es lo correcto, lo que dicta el corazón. Para seguir luchando, para seguir nuestros sueños, para tomar las decisiones adecuadas.

Valor y coraje para atreverse a ser feliz y para escuchar esa voz dentro de nosotros que nos guía y sabe lo que nos conviene.

Os invito a reflexionar por unos instantes desde el cariño y la comprensión hacia nosotros mismos. Seamos nuestros amigos. Seamos gentiles y amables con nosotros,pero también tengamos valor y coraje por ir en pos de nuestra felicidad  ♥

I think its by far, one of my favorites  I love that it`s  a  circle an that all the little bits of representative nature are inside of it : )

Creo que es con diferencia mi sello favorito hasta ahora! Me encanta que sea un círculo en el que todos los trocitos representativos de la naturaleza quedan contenidos : )

I really enjoyed carving this one. I had the idea of it in my mind for a while and I finally got to make a stamps!

And you know what usually happens to me? When I carve I feel the urge to carve some more stamps! So I have many more to show you during the next weeks! : )
