Happy Monday Everyone!!!

Mondays seem all the same, because we call them that way, but actually every day is unique and has never and will never repeat itself.

I personally tend to forget this! Its easy to get into the rutine and all days seem pretty much the same,

butI guess its up to us on how we  choose to perceive it. : )  Even if its a tiny interior shift… “monday” wont look the same ; )

so have a very happy and unique day : )

Todos los Lunes parecen iguales porque los llamos de esa manera, pero en realidad cada día es único y nunca se ha repetido ni repetirá.

Tiendo a olvidar ésto. Sé lo fácil que es caer en la rutina de cada día y hace que los dias parezcan monótonos..supongo que depende de nosotros y que de cómo elegimos verlos : ) Incluso si es un cambio de percepción pequeñito desde dentro…el “lunes” ya no parecerá el mismo ; )

Así es que os deseo que tengáis un día muy feliz y único : )

Last weekend we went to buy some pumpkins! There was so much variety!

Whilst my sons bought the most heaviest ones, I preffered the smallest ones I found..They were already looking at me with those cute eyes, so I had to take them home ; )

I like that Halloween its starting to being more celebrated in Spain and other parts of Europe I think its a lovely way to reconnect with its ancestral roots, which come from the Celts : )

Besides carving our pumpkins and dcorating the house we will go trick or treating! SO I´ll tell you all how it went : )

El fin de semana pasado fuimos al mercado de calabazas! Había tanta variedad!

Me encantó y mientras mis hijos se llevaron una calabaza de al menos 15 kilos cada una, yo me decanté por las más pequeñitas

que encontré…^_ ^ Desde el carrito donde estaban todas expuestas ya miraban con esos ojitos ..así es que me las traje a casa : )

Me gusta que la fiesta de halloween vuelva a celebrarse  en España y otras partes de Europa, ya que no es una fiesta americana de hecho, sino una tradición europea ancestral de origen celta.. : )

Nosotros además de carvar calabazas  y decorar la casa, iremos con los niños a pedir dulces por las casas de los vecinos!  Ya os contaré qué tal!

Que paséis un fin de semana de susto! ( lo siento, pero tenía que hacer la broma ,jejeje)

I hadn´t share a flea market find in a while..

If there´s something my family can tell you about me, is that every time we go to the flea market I always leave with a basket ..or two..

If I´d showed you all the ones I have at home!

One for gloves and mittens, another for the library books, for the blankets by the sofa,for potatoes and onions in the kitchen…the list goes on and on coul you tell how much I love them ? ; )

I love the natural materials they are made of, how nice they look in every room..and how handy they are!

Hacía tiempo que no compartía  un “hallazgo del rastro”

Si hay algo que mi familia os dirá cada vez que vamos al rastro de cuando en cuando es que siempre me llevo a casa alguna cesta!

Si os enseñase todas las que tengo en casa! Una en la entrada para guantes y bufandas,

otra en el salón con los libros que los niños sacan de la biblioteca, otras tantas en la cocina para almacenar patatas o servilletas de tela..

en fin, la lista podría seguir y seguir..y es que lo confieso, me encantan!

Los materiales naturales de lo que están hechas, lo bien que quedan en cualquier lugar y la calidez que aportan a cualquier rinconcito. Y lo prácticas que son, claro!

The basket I bought was pretty new. I thought it had a very interesting shape.

Ésta de arriba estaba prácticamente nueva. Me llamó la atención por su forma tan peculiar.

One more basket for my studio. Along with the baskets for storing my japanese fabrics and yarn,

I immediately visualized what this new one would store..any guess?

una aportación más a mi estudio junto con las cestas donde guardo mi colección de telas japonesas o lanas…

Ésta me pareció que podría ser una buena candidata para guardar…¿alguna apuesta?

Its perfect for them! keeping them tidy and organized and free of dust.

Oh how I enjoy these flea market finds..specially when they cost me so little..One pound was what I payed for this basket.. : )

Las cintas caben perfectamente, están a mano y lo mejor es que no se llenan de polvo.

Ay cómo gustan los hallazgos del rastro…sobretodo cuando gasto tan poco.Una libra fue lo que costó esta cestita…. : )

It happens to me once in a while. There are times when my favorite color is white, others purple, other times blue..

Its been a while since I´m in love with neon pink! I wouldnt have thought of this becasue I´ve neer really liked it very much !  it was too bright for my taste!

But now, I cant help it..

Me da por temporadas. Hay épocas en que mi color preferido es el blanco, otras el morado, otras el azul…

Llevo ya una temporadita que me encanta el rosa neón! No lo hubiera imaginado ! Siempre me ha parecido pues eso, un color muy chillón.

Pero no lo puedo evitar…

But I have to say, I only like to see it in small splashes of color here and there or in small objects like pencils and pens like the photo above..

Eso sí, sólo me gusta en pequeñas dosis..un toque de color por aquí o allí o en pequeños objetos, como los lápices y bolis de la foto de arriba…

or in paper, sticky notes for example or washi tape! washi tape in neon pink is my favorite roll!

o en papel, notas adhesivas o washi tape ! el washi tape rosa neón es mi favorito!!

I love when I spot it also on the internet like on fryd and design blog..

or this whole series of photos by a creative mint using bits of neon colors..

and how about this whole wall…would it be too much…?  ; )

Today I want to share an easy peasy tutorial : )

How to use an eyelet punch!

The thing is I have discovered this tool recently even though I had seen it many many times before and was curious on how tu use it.

Ok, so, for this tutorial you will need:

Hoy quiero compartiros un sencillo tutorial que espero que os guste!

Se trata de realizar unas sencillas etiquetas con anillas metálicas.

Lo cierto que es que hace poco que comenzé a utilizarlas aunque ya las había visto muchas veces y me preguntaba cómo  se ponían.

Para este tutorial necesitaréis:

Eyelet puncher

You can find them easily at hardware stores.

Eyelets

A little bag with eyelets normally comes with the tool when you buy it.

Scissors

Cardboard

I used one from a package

Pencil

And something to trace a circle with

ok, so lets start..

Alicate ojetero

Se puede conseguir online aquí o qué creéis? en los chinos de España ví que los venden!

Así es que por una vez, no será una herramienta de esas difíciles de conseguir!: )

Anillas metálicas

Las suelen vender con el alicate ojetero.

Tijeras

cartulina

( yo aproveché el cartón de un envío)

Lápiz

Algo con lo que trazar un círculo. Yo utilicé una cinta para embalar

Comencemos…

1.

Trace a circle on the cardboard

1.-

Trazar una circunferencia en el cartón

2.-

Cut your tag with the scissors

2.-

Recortar la circunferencia con las tijeras

3.

a) place the eyelet on top of the “bumpy” part of the puncher.

b) place your cardboard in between the eyelet and puncher

c) Press firmly!  And there you have it! a cute tag! so easy!

3.-

a) Colocar la anilla metálica sobre la parte protuberante del alicate.

b) Situar la cartulina en medio y presionar con fuerza.

c) listo! ya tenemos nuestra anilla colocada! a que es fácil? : )

Then to make the tags look even nicer..

I used bakers twine..

Luego, para las etiquetas quedasen más bonitas…

utilicé bakers twine para pasarlo por las anillas

and three of my favorite craft supplies:

washi tape, uniball pens, and rubber stamps ( I used the ones I bought from ebay)

y tres de mis “herramientas” favoritas:

washi tape, bolis de uniball y sellos! ( en esta ocasión utilicé los que compré por ebay)

Next step: embellish them! : )

For the first tag I did one of Mayu´s mt bows ( post here)

and a raccoon and cat rubber stamp.

For the second one I simply placed the mt all along the bottom of it and a cute ” muffin-girl” stamp.

siguiente paso: embellecer al gusto! : )

Para la etiqueta de arriba me animé con uno de los lacitos de Mayu ( post aquí)

y un sellito de gatitos y mapaches.

Para la segunda simplemente coloqué el washi tape en tiras una al lado de la otra y un sellito muy mono de una “niña-pastelito”.

As you could see, everything is so so simple.But most of the times, simple is better, right ; )

Hello! Happy Monday!

Today I thought I´d start the week with something a bit different..I feel I´m repeating my self every Monday with what I write ( well, in fact I know I am : P ). Thats why I looked up some quotes from one of my favorite poets: Rumi. And I found one I absolutely loved:

I feel its a very inspiring thought to begin the day with, dont you agree?

And of course, I´ll also share the inspiring images of every Monday…this time they are overloaded with sweet pinks..♥ enjoy!

Hoy he pensado empezar la semana con algo un poquito distinto..siento que me repito cada Lunes con lo que digo (bueno, más bien  lo sé : P ). Así es que he buscado citas sobre uno de mis poetas favoritos. Rumi. Y he encontrado ésta que me ha encantado:

Creo que es un pensamiento muy inspirador para comenzar el día, no creéis? : )

With the arrival of cooler days  and some  rain, I like to start preparing teas  .. remain inside my house warm and cosy and just read a book perhaps or start a craft.
Well, at least this  are my plans for the weekend… Though the reality is that I will be doing thousand of things .. probably during the night when the children are sleeping,I´ll sit on the sofa and relax ..? Or will I be already too tired? …Any way, I just want to wish you   a fabulous weekend and that at least during a moment you find some  peace and tranquility!

And reserve some time to do what you most love! ♥

Con la llegada de días más fríos y algo de lluvia, apetece empezarse a preparar tés e infusiones..quedarse en casa calentita y leer o comenzar una manualidad.

Bueno, al menos esos son mis planes para el fin de semana…Aunque la realidad es que estaré corriendo de un lado para otro haciendo mil cosas ..quizá en la noche cuando los niños duerman me acurruque en el sofá y relaje..? o estaré ya demasiado cansada? En fin..no sé bien por qué cuento todo esto : P Sólo quiero desearos un fabuloso fin de semana y que al menos durante un ratito encontréis algo de paz y tranquilidad o reservéis siempre un huequito para hacer lo que a vosotr@s más os apetezca! ♥

Ever since I saw this apple cosy on the cover of Mollie Makes, I´ve been wanting to make one! they are so irresistibly cute!

But I dont know how to crochet! not one single bit! So a very dear friend of mine made it for me! ♥

Desde que ví una funda para manzana como ésta en la portada de la revista Mollie Makes he querido hacer una! son irresistiblemente bonitas!

Pero el problema es que no tengo ni idea de hacer ganchillo! Así es que una amiga muy querida la hizo para mí! ♥

There are lots of patterns on the internet on how to make one.

My friend didn´t need it because she said it was very simple.

But here´s the link to the original pattern in case you want to make one : )

En internet hay muchos patrones que te dicen cómo hacerte una.

Mi amiga no lo necesitó porque vió que era un proyecto muy sencillo

What I would recommend is to make a few with different sizes, because not all the apples will fit in the same one.

And if you use different yarn colors, you can have a set of  cosies as cute at these! ♥

Lo que sí  os recomiendo  es que si podéis hagáis varios porque no todas las manzanas tienen el mismo tamaño.

Y si alternáis colores tendréis una serie de “abriguitos” monísimos como éstos ♥

Once finished just add a cute little button! I prefere the wooden ones : )

Una vez listo sólo falta añadirle el botón!   A mí me gustan los de madera : )

Oh I just love how we have the need to embellish everything in life…

Does an apple really need a cosy? not at all but it just looks so cute! ha! ; )

Me encanta cómo los seres humanos tenemos la necesidad de embellecerlo todo ..

¿ Necesita una manzana realmente un abriguito? No.En absoluto.Pero queda TAN mona… ; )

It was so lovely to find old friends in Madrid! So good and generous!

I left with so many presents from them! I couldn´t get any luckier!and I couldn´t like them more! ♥♥

Today I want to share two handmade presents..but there are many more! ; )

The first one is this zipper pouch of the wizard of oz! Made by a dear friend !

She sure knows my taste  because  I LOVE it!

El primero es este estuche cosido con telas japonesas del Mago de Oz! hecho por una querida amiga !

Dio completamente en el clavo! Es PRECIOSO!

You could tell all the love put into every stitch!..it came out perfect! ♥

Se notaba el cariño puesto en cada puntada..le quedó perfecto! ♥

And to make it even more beautiful she used  a matching blue gingham fabric for the lining!

Thank you so much sweet friend! Its a treasure I´ll always cherish!!♥♥♥

Last weekend I had the opportunity to assit to a japanese book binding workshop over at Red Hot Press!

The minute I saw it , I knew I wanted to learn the book binding technique! : )

El fin de semana pasado tuve la oportunidad de asistir a un taller de encuadernación tradicional japonesa en Red Hot Press!

El instante que lo ví anunciado, supe que quería aprender esa técnica de encuadernación!

The workshop ran over for two days and I couldn´t be more happier with it!

El taller duró dos días y no podía haber estado más contenta!

Not only the place was lovely and the teacher! But also to be doing something creative with minded like people! : )

No sólo el lugar era precioso y la profesora simpatiquísima! Sino el hecho de hacer algo creativo con gente con intereses comunes me encantó! : )

I immediatley got hooked with the technique! One of my first books was the one you see above with a

postcard from one of my favorite japanese artists Minako Chiba

Me enamoré inmediatamente de la técnica! uno de mis primeros libritos fue el que

véis arriba con una postal de la artista japonesa Minako Chiba

Waht I love about  book binding ,is that you can use almost anything to create a cover with! : )
