Today I have an easy peasy tutorial for you!

Well, to be honest is more about sharing an idea that can be applied not only to a candleholder, but to any wooden object!

And so you see, having spent the last few weeks painting ( a lot) with Chalk paint ,

I decided to give it a try at painting one of the beautiful wooden candleholders they sent!

There are many color options of course, but also shapes if you use washi tape!

Habiendo pasado las últimas semanas pintando con chalk paint, al ver estos portavelas tan bonitos se me ocurrió probar pintar uno y ver qué tal quedaba.

Hay muchas opciones de color claro, pero también de formas si utilizas washi tape!

I have to say I already love the natural color the wood has, but still, I wanted to see how my little experiment went ; )

Step 1: Clean your surface from dust or wax ; )

Este color que tiene de manera natural hay que decir que de por sí es precioso! pero quería aun  así hacer mi experimento ; )

Paso1: limpiar bien el portavelas de polvo o cera ; )

Step 2: Cut with scissors different shapes with washi tape and stick them to the candleholder.

Triangles, squares, lines..you can even alternate them!

I wanted to try with triangles!

 paso2: recortar con unas tijeras formas con washi tape y pegarlas en el portavelas.

Pueden ser triángulos , cuadrados, líneas..también se podrían ir alternando!

Yo quise probar con los triángulos ( tan de moda) !

Step 3: Paint the candleholder with your chalkpaint!

I choose white, but felt tempted with a light pink or turquoise as well ; )

Paso 3: pintar encima con la chalk paint!

Elegí el blanco pero un rosa clarito o turquesa también me parecieron tentadores!

Step 4: Peel off the washi tape and voilá! The wood under the paint will show so nicely!

But, if by any reason you are not convinced, you can wash it off with water!( if the wood was varnished first of course)

Paso 4: Pelar o quitar los trocitos de washi para dejar ver el color natural de la madera y listo!

Si no os llegara a convencer el resultado, siempre podéis retirar la pintura con agua (si como en este caso, la madera esta barnizada)

Me gusta cómo quedan la combinación de los dos portavelas juntos complementándose!
