As a creative exercise I recommend gathering your things from around the house such as, paper cuttings, tags ,postcards ..etc

all in the same color palette or scheme and just display them on the floor or a board : )

Como un ejercicio creativo os recomiendo probar éste: Reunir cositas de vuestra casa o mesa de trabajo como etiquetas, postales, cintas, fotos, etc

en la misma paleta de color o tema y disponerlas en el suelo o un tablón : )

Then just play with those things moving them around trying to figure out where they fit best.

Luego sólo jugad con ellas moviéndolas de un sitio para otro buscando dónde encajan mejor.

For this one I gathered a lovely print from art and ghosts ( 1),  a “thank you” card from Sarah Jane (2) , a bird postcard from Geninne (3)

and bits and bobs like a paper doily, a crochet flower, some tags made with my carved stamps, a flower brooch made by me,washi tape in the same colors….

Para este panel de inspiración reuní una lámina de art and ghosts ( 1) , una tarjeta de Sarah Jane ( 2) , una postal de pajarito de Geninne ( 3)

y luego cosas como una oblea de papel ,una flor de ganchillo, algunas etiquetas hechas con mis sellos, un pin de flor hecho por mi, washi tape en los mismos tonos..

It´s a good idea to print your own photos and display them this way! : )

this creative excercises are not only  wonderful  to entertain yourself, but also as a way to train your eye and turn it more skillfull when combinig colors, textures and patterns : )

Today I want to  share some thoughts with you.  For those of you who read me daily, you must know by now, how besides creative things I also like to share my thoughts about life once in a while. Nothing is original or new. Just my personal take on life.

I have  always believed that the answers we seek in life are in each of the small parts that comprise it.

We are one of those parts.  Just by observing nature we can get many of the answers we are looking for.
This was the case of a succulent of mine who taught me something very valuable …
I had the little plant indoors and was in very bad condition. I did not know what was that it needed! if more water, more light .. the fact is that it was dying!
One day I decided to transplant  it to a larger pot and take it out of the house, into the garden .This way it would receive natural sunlight and rain.

And not only did not die, but it grew so very green and happy : )

We are made not to survive but to grow and blossom.

Many people “survive” in their daily lifes with poor light and water, with little love or none at all.

And just one step away is  the sun and the  rain…

We should not settle to survive whatever our situation is. We must demand ourselves to blossom.

For this reason I´d like you to BLOSSOM because thats why you are here for ♥

Hoy toca compartir algunos pensamientos. Los que me leéis a diario sabéis que además de creatividad  también me gusta reflexionar de vez en cuando sobre la vida. Nada es nuevo ni original, simplemente mi percepción personal de las cosas… ; )

Siempre he pensado que todas las respuestas de la vida se hallan en cada una de las pequeñas partes que la conforman.

Nosotros somos una de esas partes. Observando la naturaleza y reflexionando podemos tener muchas de estas respuestas .

Éste fue el caso de una plantita mía que me enseño algo muy valioso..

La pobre estaba en muy mal estado..no sabía qué era lo que necesitaba si más agua, más luz ..el caso es que a duras penas sobrevivía.

Decidí un día cambiarla de maceta a una más grande y sacarla al jardín a que le diera la lluvia y el sol directamente.

Y no sólo no murió, sino que reverdeció exuberante y feliz.

Estamos hechos no para sobrevivir sino para crecer y florecer, igual que esa suculenta.

Cuántas personas “sobreviviven” en su día a día con poca luz, con poca agua, con poco amor…

Y a escasos pasos está el sol y la lluvia que alimentan y hacen que todo crezca de manera tan hermosa.

No debemos conformarnos con sobrevivir cualesquiera que sea nuestra situación .Debemos exigirnos a nosotros mismos florecer.

Por eso hoy  deseo que FLOREZCAS, porque para eso naciste ♥

I´ve always loved to learn new painting techniques..Mix media techniques are the best and the ones I enjoy the most!

Today I want to share with you a drawing of a cat I made in case you feel like trying something similar : )

For this little kitty below, I first drew on an envelope the silhouette. Then Painted around it with white acrylic paint.

Siempre me gusta aprender nuevas técnicas de dibujo o pintura..Las de técnica mixta son mis favoritas y las que más disfruto! Porque como su nombre indica, se trata de emplear varios medios, como acuarela con acrílico, o rotuladores..etc

Hoy os quiero compartir este dibujito que hice por si os animáis a probar algo similar : )

Para este gatito que véis abajo primero lo dibujé en un sobre reciclado a lápiz; luego pinté a su alrededor con pintura acrílica blanca…

Later with a black micro pen I added the details along with a blue marker.

By the way I want to answer  a question I get asked a lot..about which drawing tablet I use to draw on my computer..It´s one very popular called “mouse” ; ) I dream about getting a wacom..I really wonder what it would be to draw on one of those..but for the moment the mouse it is! : )

Luego defino el contorno y los detalles con un rotring negro y añado algunos detalles con un rotulador de color azul.

Por cierto, aprovecho para responder a una pregunta que me hacen mucho..sobre qué tableta utilizo para dibujar en el ordenador..es una muy conocida que se llama “mouse” o “ratón” en español ; )

Sueño con dibujar en una wacom…me pregunto cómo será…de momento me tengo que apañar con el mouse! : )

The rest as you can see below I used the computer and with  illustrator added all the color and the llittle cloud, bird, etc

El resto, como podéis ver en la imágen de abajo, lo hice con el ordenaror, con el programa de Illustrator. Añadí el color, la nube, el pajarito..etc

What I love the most about using different mediums is the liberty they give you to experiment and most of all enjoy the whole process : )

Lo que más me gusta de utilizar diferentes medios, es la libertad que te dan para experimentar y sobretodo disfrutar el proceso entero : )

Firts of all forgive me, because todays photos came out so bad.. But I still wanted to show you a little project I did some weeks ago that perhaps you like and want to try : )

Antes que nada, perdonad las fotos de hoy porque salieron tan mal..Pero no he querido dejar de ponerlas porque seguro que os gusta el proyecto que vengo a compartiros y quizá os apetezca intentarlo después : )

It ocurred to me to take a rubber stamp I liked and stamp it on a piece of white cotton fabric and then “embroider” or stitch on top of it.

This is the  result:

Se me ocurrió un día estampar unos sellos de caucho que compré hace tiempo y me gustan mucho sobre un  retal de tela blanca de algodón.

Luego coser encima, siguiendo el dibujo del sello y éste fue el resultado:

Truth be told, i dont know how to embroider, so this flower is made with the simple stitch you use for sewing!

Oh and french knotts I learned how to make them on youtube! They are very easy and fun!

La verdad sea dicha no sé bordar! Esta flor está hecha con la puntada más sencilla de todas que se utilizan para coser!

Los nudos franceses sí que quería aprenderlos, así es que busqué un video en youtube! son muy fáciles y entretenidos!

I just combined four diferent colors of thread to give it interest and contrast and turned the fabric into a pillow.

Combiné cuatro colores diferentes de hilos para dar constraste e interés y convertí la tela de algódón en una funda de almohada.

Later on ,I found out the sale special ink for this purpose!

I really, really love my new pillow cover! It did take time, but it couldnt be easier to “embroider” and I  enjoyed it so much!

Me gusta mucho cómo quedó la funda de almohada! Es cierto que llevó su tiempo, pero no pudo haber sido más fácil de “bordar” y lo disfrute tanto!

Today the day is a bit windy and cloudy, very cool and nice. It reminds me of autumn..really. And autumn means beautiful colored leafes..

I´m loving all this SUPER inspiring ideas on how to give leafs different uses. From a nice touch to gift wrapping, or as a canvas to paint lovely patterns and drawings. Punch little holes and see the light come through it. DOnt you feel like collecting leafs thi minute and do something similar? I sure do : )

Hoy el día ha amanecido nublado, fresco y ventoso. Me recuerda al otoño. Y el otoño significa preciosas hojas de colores..

Me encantan todas estas maravillosas ideas de cómo dar a las hojas usos diferentes. Desde utilizarlas para a;adir un toque especial al envolver un regalo, a emplearlas como soporte para pintar o hacer pequeños orificios por los que dejar pasar la luz. No os han entrado unas ganas tremendas de hacer algo similar? a mí si! : )

I wont be showing you anything “new ” today, because this idea of framing fabric using embroidery hoops is very old, but I hadn´t tried it until now and I love it!

No os enseñaré nada “nuevo” hoy,porque esta idea de enmarcar retales de tela con aros para bordar es muy vieja,pero no la había probado hasta ahora y me encanta!

I used my two last pieces of favorite fabric to hang them on the wall using this method : )

Es el único lugar que conozco que haga esto con este tipo de libros tan solicitados. Además, están en perfectas condiciones!

I bought a couple from her and I love them! they are packed with great ideas and very inspiring photos!

I only wish I could read japanese! I´m intrigued to know if this skirt is made from pieces of japanese washi tape

Sometimes I like to build up inspiration boards. Even if it´s just for a couple of minutes until I put everything back in its place.

A veces me gusta reunir algunos de mis objetos favoritos y crear una especie de “panel de inspiración” aunque sea por unos minutos y luego lo deshaga.

The inspirations boards  I see all over the internet have encouraged me to do one too with little pieces of fabric scraps, tags made with my own stamps, my visit cards, Masking tape ( of course) and a little crochet flower a dear friend made for me ♥

Bulding up inspiration boards its an excellente way to excercise your creativity  : )

Los paneles de inspiración que veo tanto por internet me han animado a intentar crear uno pequeñito con trocitos de tela, etiquetas hechas a mano con mis sellos, mis tarjetas de visita, Mt ( por supuesto ; ) y una flor de crochet que una querida amiga hizo para mí ♥

Construir estos paneles de inspiración es una manera estupenda de ejercitar la creatividad : )

I got inspired by Holly´s idea of presenting your  business cards to make these ♥

I Love the idea of mixing not only colors, but textures and different materials to add contrast and visual interest. She explains at her blog how she did this.

Me inspiré de estas cartitas hechas por Holly para hacer las mías ♥

La idea de mezclar no sólo colores, sino materiales y texturas es maravillosa, crea una serie de contrastes muy agradables a la vista y al tacto  : ) ella explica muy bien en su blog cómo las hizo.

Sometimes there are little tricks to make to photos look nicer and more bright if this is the style you like.

As you can see on the sneak peek behind the cameras, the photo above, I used two white panels to achive that bounce of light.Well, actually, the one on the right is a cardboard covered with a white fabric ( had to improvise). But the best thing to use is white foamboard.

A veces hay pequeños truquitos” que ayudan mucho a que las fotos salgan más bonitas o luminosas, sí este es el estilo que te gusta.

Cómo podéis ver en la foto de arriba improvisé con dos paneles blancos ( bueno, uno, es en realidad un cartón cubierto con una tela blanca) para conseguir ese “rebote” de la luz en los objetos fotografiados. Lo mejor es utilizar dos cartones de foamboard.

This photo illustrates perfectly well the bounce of light of the white panel.

The grey MT receives all the light from boths sides and the blue ones dont.

Amazing isn´t it? It keeps surprising me how something so simple as a

white cardboard can actually do the trick! And help  to avoid those ugly shadows : )

Una cinta de MT -y dale con el MT- está al lado de esta caja de cartón blanca mientras que el otro no.

Es un tip muy sencillo para evitar las dichosas sombras,pero muy resultón : )

Espero que este “detrás de la cámara” os haya gustado y  haya sido una pequeña ayuda, que siempre viene bien, sobretodo cuando se quiere aprender más y mejorar♥
