Today the day is a bit windy and cloudy, very cool and nice. It reminds me of autumn..really. And autumn means beautiful colored leafes..

I´m loving all this SUPER inspiring ideas on how to give leafs different uses. From a nice touch to gift wrapping, or as a canvas to paint lovely patterns and drawings. Punch little holes and see the light come through it. DOnt you feel like collecting leafs thi minute and do something similar? I sure do : )

Hoy el día ha amanecido nublado, fresco y ventoso. Me recuerda al otoño. Y el otoño significa preciosas hojas de colores..

Me encantan todas estas maravillosas ideas de cómo dar a las hojas usos diferentes. Desde utilizarlas para a;adir un toque especial al envolver un regalo, a emplearlas como soporte para pintar o hacer pequeños orificios por los que dejar pasar la luz. No os han entrado unas ganas tremendas de hacer algo similar? a mí si! : )

I wont be showing you anything “new ” today, because this idea of framing fabric using embroidery hoops is very old, but I hadn´t tried it until now and I love it!

No os enseñaré nada “nuevo” hoy,porque esta idea de enmarcar retales de tela con aros para bordar es muy vieja,pero no la había probado hasta ahora y me encanta!

I used my two last pieces of favorite fabric to hang them on the wall using this method : )

It´s the only place I know where you can buy these books second hand and in great condition!

Su dueña, Mayu Kinoshita, ha tenido una de las mejores ideas! Vender  libros de segunda mano!!

Es el único lugar que conozco que haga esto con este tipo de libros tan solicitados. Además, están en perfectas condiciones!

I bought a couple from her and I love them! they are packed with great ideas and very inspiring photos!

Compré un par hace como un mes y estoy encantada! Están llenos de ideas creativas y fotos muy inspiradoras!

I only wish I could read japanese! I´m intrigued to know if this skirt is made from pieces of japanese washi tape

Sometimes I like to build up inspiration boards. Even if it´s just for a couple of minutes until I put everything back in its place.

A veces me gusta reunir algunos de mis objetos favoritos y crear una especie de “panel de inspiración” aunque sea por unos minutos y luego lo deshaga.

The inspirations boards  I see all over the internet have encouraged me to do one too with little pieces of fabric scraps, tags made with my own stamps, my visit cards, Masking tape ( of course) and a little crochet flower a dear friend made for me ♥

Bulding up inspiration boards its an excellente way to excercise your creativity  : )

Los paneles de inspiración que veo tanto por internet me han animado a intentar crear uno pequeñito con trocitos de tela, etiquetas hechas a mano con mis sellos, mis tarjetas de visita, Mt ( por supuesto ; ) y una flor de crochet que una querida amiga hizo para mí ♥

Construir estos paneles de inspiración es una manera estupenda de ejercitar la creatividad : )

I got inspired by Holly´s idea of presenting your  business cards to make these ♥

I Love the idea of mixing not only colors, but textures and different materials to add contrast and visual interest. She explains at her blog how she did this.

Me inspiré de estas cartitas hechas por Holly para hacer las mías ♥

La idea de mezclar no sólo colores, sino materiales y texturas es maravillosa, crea una serie de contrastes muy agradables a la vista y al tacto  : ) ella explica muy bien en su blog cómo las hizo.

Sometimes there are little tricks to make to photos look nicer and more bright if this is the style you like.

As you can see on the sneak peek behind the cameras, the photo above, I used two white panels to achive that bounce of light.Well, actually, the one on the right is a cardboard covered with a white fabric ( had to improvise). But the best thing to use is white foamboard.

A veces hay pequeños truquitos” que ayudan mucho a que las fotos salgan más bonitas o luminosas, sí este es el estilo que te gusta.

Cómo podéis ver en la foto de arriba improvisé con dos paneles blancos ( bueno, uno, es en realidad un cartón cubierto con una tela blanca) para conseguir ese “rebote” de la luz en los objetos fotografiados. Lo mejor es utilizar dos cartones de foamboard.

This photo illustrates perfectly well the bounce of light of the white panel.

The grey MT receives all the light from boths sides and the blue ones dont.

Amazing isn´t it? It keeps surprising me how something so simple as a

white cardboard can actually do the trick! And help  to avoid those ugly shadows : )

Una cinta de MT -y dale con el MT- está al lado de esta caja de cartón blanca mientras que el otro no.

Es un tip muy sencillo para evitar las dichosas sombras,pero muy resultón : )

Espero que este “detrás de la cámara” os haya gustado y  haya sido una pequeña ayuda, que siempre viene bien, sobretodo cuando se quiere aprender más y mejorar♥

A few weeks ago I ordered a custom made rubber stamp from rubberstamps.net

And I´was so happy to receive it on the mail!!

y me puse muy contenta de recibirlo en el buzón!

I thought about carving it my self, but I wanted to be very precise and the artline very thin.

Pensé en carvarlo yo misma pero quería que las líneas fueran muy precisas y finas.

I also wanted to inlcude my name : )

I just love it! it has an excellent quality and its so cute!

I´m already stamping it on everything!

I think its a wonderful idea to customize a stamp! It can even be a drawing of one of your kids! wouldn´t that be fun? SO many possibilities!

I will sure be trying a few more desing soon! But first I wanted to share this one with you! ♥

For a long time I have wanted to organize a ”swap” or exchange, between my blog readers  and I .

A swap consists in an exchange  ( like cards, gifts, etc) with another person, in this case,  form another part of the world.

First I need some of you to be willing to participate : )

You can do so by sending  me an email to ishtarolivera (at) yahoo.es with the subject  ”swap” in which you must include your name and address.

Only 20 people will participate ! So hurry! ;)

I will assign the partners and send you the address of the person you have to write and send something to

That something has to be :

1.-A photo (taken by you) or postcard where you live with a little message

2.-A small handmade gift.

3.-Something Sweet  (chocolate, biscuits, tea …) It is not necessary to include the whole box of cookies (which would take too much space) but a small sample. As with the tea, a couple of your favorite tea bags will be suffice, but I´ll leave it  to your discretion.

In fact, any  kind of sweet would be great. It is Best if its something that can only buy in your country:)

If you want to add any other little thing that you fancy, go ahead

I also will participate!

You have this week to enter  the ”Swap” and next Monday I will send the details of your swap friend!! If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know! is the first swap that I organize and I want everything to go well!♥ ♥ ♥

Hace ya mucho tiempo que tengo ganas de organizar un “swap” o intercambio entre vari@s lectora/es y yo…

Me explico..Un swap o intercambio consiste en precisamente, intercambiar cartas, regalos, etc con otra persona , en este caso, de otra parte del mundo.

Primero necesito  que algun@s de vosotr@s tenga ganas de participar : )

Lo podréis hacer enviándome un correo a ishtarolivera(at)yahoo.es  con el tema “swap”, en que incluiréis vuestro nombre y dirección .

Podrán participar hasta 20 personas! Así es que daros prisa! ; )

Yo asignaré parejas para el intercambio y os mandaré la dirección de la persona a la que tenéis que escribirle y mandarle algo : )

Ese algo consistirá en :

1.-Una foto (tomada por vosotros) o postal  de donde vivís con un mensajito : )

2.-Algo hecho a mano pequeño

3.-Algo dulce para poder degustar ( chocolate, galletas, té…) No es necesario incluir la caja entera de galletas ( que ocuparía mucho) sino una muestra pequeña. Igual que con el té, un par de bolsitas de vuestro té favorito bastarán, pero lo dejo a vuestro criterio.

En realidad cualquier dulce valdría. MEJOR si es algo que sólo se consigue en vuestro país : )

Hoy el post de hoy lo quiero dedicar de nuevo al MT  ( espero que no estéis ya cansado de este tema ; )

Una sencilla idea para colgarlo..

As simple as getting a stick from a branch and tiying it with a piece of  string and then hanging it on the wall!

Tan fácil como coger un palito de un árbol, meterl el MT , atarlo con un cordón y listo a colgarlo de un clavo en la pared!

As I´ve said, MT is more than an adhesive tape, is a decorating object, because its so cute!

Como digo, el MT es más que cinta adhesiva, es casi que un objeto de decoración porque es muy bonito!

My crazy sewing weekend started on a lovely Friday afternoon while I was watching this video of Lotta Jansdotter …

Mi locura de coser este fin de semana horas y horas sin parar, comenzó el Viernes por la tarde. Tranquilamente miraba este video que Lotta Jansdotter hizo para Rowenta y esa fue mi “perdición ” ; )

I loved this video- tutorial  because it explains in a very simple way, how to sew these pot holders or coasters in  patchwork style . The best thing  about it, is that you can use your remnants of fabric from other projects, so its a great way to recycle!  … love the idea! So after who knows how many hours of cutting fabric watching the video,sewing,watching  the video again, and more sewing … this was the result:

Este video-tutorial me encantó porque explica de manera muy  sencilla,cómo coser estos “agarra ollas” estilo patchwork  y aunque está en inglés, se entiende todo muy bien. Lo mejor es que es muy divertido elegir las telas que vas a combinar y que puedas utilizar los trocitos de tela de otros proyectos, aprovechas y reciclas!…todo en esta idea es genial!Por eso quién sabe cuántas horas después de cortar tela, ver el video,coser,ver el video otra vez, y más coser…este fue el resultado:

These were sewn with remants of japanese fabrics, vintage fabrics and my own japanese bunnies! You all know how much I love the japanese aesthetic! so it was very easy for me to concieve pot holders with this in mind! ; )

Hello again!

See, this little space of mine is growing! and I´m SO,SO, SO happy about that! It´s the result of a daily effort, of love, and attention in every detail, in every post and I want to thank so much for this! for liking it and being part of my small world.

Because of all of this, I been thinking of writing a couple of posts some days of the week. That would allow me to share more with you!! The”handmade finds” was a forgoten section that I wanted to write about again, but there are two more sections I want to show you very soon! and that I hope you´ll like!: )

Hola otra vez!

Este pequeño espacio mio está creciendo! y estoy muy muy feliz! Es el resultado de un esfuerzo y dedicación diarias, de poner mucho cariño y ganas de querer compartir con los demás,así que quiero agradeceros el apoyo y el ser parte de mi mundo: )

Debido a esto, he estado pensando escribir más de un post algunos días de la semana. Aun estoy organizándome,pero me agrada la idea de compartir aun más  las cosas que me gustan!

Las entradas de lo  ”hecho a  mano” es una de esas “nuevas” ( o mejor dicho recuperadas) secciones,pero hay otras más que iré mostrando muy pronto y que espero que os gusten! : )
