I´ve always loved to learn new painting techniques..Mix media techniques are the best and the ones I enjoy the most!

Today I want to share with you a drawing of a cat I made in case you feel like trying something similar : )

For this little kitty below, I first drew on an envelope the silhouette. Then Painted around it with white acrylic paint.

Siempre me gusta aprender nuevas técnicas de dibujo o pintura..Las de técnica mixta son mis favoritas y las que más disfruto! Porque como su nombre indica, se trata de emplear varios medios, como acuarela con acrílico, o rotuladores..etc

Hoy os quiero compartir este dibujito que hice por si os animáis a probar algo similar : )

Para este gatito que véis abajo primero lo dibujé en un sobre reciclado a lápiz; luego pinté a su alrededor con pintura acrílica blanca…

Later with a black micro pen I added the details along with a blue marker.

By the way I want to answer  a question I get asked a lot..about which drawing tablet I use to draw on my computer..It´s one very popular called “mouse” ; ) I dream about getting a wacom..I really wonder what it would be to draw on one of those..but for the moment the mouse it is! : )

Luego defino el contorno y los detalles con un rotring negro y añado algunos detalles con un rotulador de color azul.

Por cierto, aprovecho para responder a una pregunta que me hacen mucho..sobre qué tableta utilizo para dibujar en el ordenador..es una muy conocida que se llama “mouse” o “ratón” en español ; )

Sueño con dibujar en una wacom…me pregunto cómo será…de momento me tengo que apañar con el mouse! : )

The rest as you can see below I used the computer and with  illustrator added all the color and the llittle cloud, bird, etc

El resto, como podéis ver en la imágen de abajo, lo hice con el ordenaror, con el programa de Illustrator. Añadí el color, la nube, el pajarito..etc

What I love the most about using different mediums is the liberty they give you to experiment and most of all enjoy the whole process : )

Lo que más me gusta de utilizar diferentes medios, es la libertad que te dan para experimentar y sobretodo disfrutar el proceso entero : )

Here´s the watercolor I painted for my Son Adrian ( aka TUTI)

Aquí está mi acuarela del Bebé Búho que hice para mi hijo Adrián  ( alias, Tuti) : )

When I painted him I had in mind the animal spirit guides. Owl in this case represents intuition and wisdom. Owl is capable of seeing in the dark and witness its secrets!

Cuando lo pinté tuve en mente a los animales guardianes. El búho en este caso, representa la intuición, la sabiduría, la capacidad de ver en la oscuridad y ver sus secretos.

I´ts a mixed media painting using not only watercolors, but white ink,  and prismacolor pencils

Es una pintura con técnica mixta en la empleé además de las acuarelas, tinta blanca y lápices de colores prismacolors

I really enjoy painting with watercolors,..must paint more of these : )

Realmente disfruto pintando con acuarelas..necesito pintar más de éstos : )

We have had grey and cold rainy weather around here…but the sun is shinning today and hopefully we´ll go to the beach this time!

In the meantime, I will keep planning every detail of my workshop because I really want it to be perfect! : ) Also, I´ll be enjoying painting with my watercolors..havent´done this in a while..Here´s a little peek of an owl I´m creating for my son Adrian. He loves owls and this one will make a perfect Birhtday gift! He´s turning nine really soon! : )

Feliz, Feliz fin de semana!! Tenéis algo planeado para los siguientes días?

Nosotros hemos tenido por aquí días nublados, frios y lluviosos..hoy ha salido por fin el sol..espero que se quede un ratito! tengo tantas ganas de ir a la playa esta vez!!

Mientras tanto, seguiré planeando en detalle mi taller de sellos, porque quiero que sea percfecto! : ) También disfrutaré pintando con mis acuarelas…las cuales hace tiempo que no utilizo ..Arriba tenéis una foto de lo que estoy haciendo..un búho para mi hijo Adrián que cumple dentro de nada 9 años!

I have really good news to tell you!

I´m VERY excited to share this with you because to me it really is a little dream coming  true!

I´m designing Stamps for Pennyblack!!!!

I have signed a contract and I´m already turning my illustrations into suitable designs for stamp making!

The first ones will probably come out in Spring!!! But I need to confirm that!

My nature bunnies will be the first ones! wow! I cant wait to see them turned into stamps!

There had been many many times during my career were I would feel unsure or upset about my future but even then I would keep trying and not giving up. Keep believing in my self and in my dreams and hopes. I think we deserve to fullfill our dreams.We deserve to be happy doing what we love, what inspires us and makes us feel alive.

Los primeros saldrán con suerte esta Primavera! Aunque aún debo confirmarlo!

Mis conejitos de la naturaleza serán de los primeros! wow! qué ganas de verlos convertidos en sellos!

Ha habido muchas veces en mi carrera como ilustradora en los  que me he sentido insegura o triste sobre mi futuro pero incluso en esos momentos uno no puede dejar de intentarlo de seguir hacia adelante. Seguir creyendo en los sueños y teniendo esperanza. Creo sinceramente que merecemos verlos realizados, merecemos todos ser felices haciendo lo que amamos, aquello que nos inspira y nos hace sentir vivos.

Hello !!I´m having a shop update!!and this are very exciting news for me because I see my little bussiness grow! Thank you SO  much for your support!! Hola! Estoy “actualizando “ mi tienda ( no sé si se dice así en español : P) Y son muy buenas noticias para mí,porque veo mi pequeño negocio crecer y esto me da alegría! Es  una sensación INCREIBLE  saber que personas de TODAS partes del mundo tienen mis ilustraciones en sus casas! Me siento bendecida al poder compartir un trocito de mi alma a través de mi arte!

I have to relate to this wonderfurl Speech Elizabeth GIlbert gave at a conference ( I really recommend you to listen to it)

Because thats exactly the way I feel about what I do. I dont feel this is entirely me painting or expressing my self..my hands hold the brushes and the pencil, but I feel that something else is manifesting through me. Call it whatever you like, it really doesnt´s matter! its the same source where we all come from, where everything manifests.

This little devas as I like to call them, are little angels of nature with animal forms.

Antes que nada, tengo que recomendaros este discurso que dio ELizabeth Gilbert sobre la creatividad.

Porque es así cómo me siento exáctamente. No siento que sea “yo” enteramente pintando o expresándome..mis manos sujetan el pincel y los colores,pero se siente a veces que es “algo más” manifestándose a través de uno.El nombre no importa, porque al fin y al cabo es la misma fuente de donde todo y todos procedemos, donde todo se manifiesta.

Estos pequeños “devas” como me gusta llamarlos, son ángelitos de la naturaleza con forma de animalitos, en este caso conejitos.

It is through living with others, sharing, expressing  that lovingly companionship that we truly are humans.

Contemplation

As for this little one…mmm he seems to be meditating!( not sleeping)Feeling the life within and around him. Inside and out. Thats the reason why flowers adorn him. : ) There´s no separation between them and him : )

My kids have been counting the days! Today is the last day of school for them before the Christmas break!

I´m really looking forward to this holidays because we have many good friends come visit us and because i have so many things planned to do with my kids!

We already made the advent calendar and we hope to have more snow to play with! : )

Also I want to add another thing : BE GRATEFUL!

Mis hijos han estado contando los días! hoy es el último día de clase antes de las vacaciones de Navidad!

Yo también las espero porque tenemos visitas en casa de buenos amigos! y porque quiero hacer muchas cosas con mis hijos. He hecho una pequeña lista:

Ya hemos hecho el calendario de adviento y esperamos que haya más nieve para salir a jugar! : )

También quiero añadir un punto más que se me olvidó: SER AGRADECIDO!

Decidme, Habéis hecho una lista con planes especiales? alguna idea que queráis compartir?

Bueno, sólo me queda desearos un maravilloso fin de semana! Nos vemos el lunes!

This illustration and the story below emerged spontaneously as I was “playing” with photoshop.

It was going to be little red riding hood, but turned into something else…I was tired of “bad wolves” so I thought, why not make it a “wolf fairy”..!!

I liked the winged wolf and so I sent the illustration to my sister. She liked it too and asked me what was it about.

What follows its what I wrote while I was chating with her on facebook..nothing fancy, nothing predetermined, I just wrote what I felt at the moment.I thought it was nice,Perhaps you like it too!: )

Esta ilustración y la historia que le sigue surgieron de manera espontánea mientras “jugaba” con photoshop.

Se supone que iba a ser Caperucita roja,pero estaba cansada de “lobos malos” así  es que pensé en cambiar la historia y convertir a la loba en una “loba hada”!! : )

Me gustó la loba alada y se la envié a mi hermana. A ella también le gustó y me preguntó de qué trataba.

Lo que escribí fue lo que me pasó por la mente mientras chateaba en facebook, no es nada elaborado, ni predeterminado, sólo lo que sentí que me decía la ilustración.

Creo que resultó bonito, espero que os guste también! : )

The little girl lived in the woods for a while … at first she was very scared of every little noise she heard, every animal, every movement behind a tree, a branch swaying in the wind … and during the night  it was worse! she couldn´t even sleep!

But the days passed and she gradually became familiar with the forest. With its inhabitants, every stone, every sound that came from it… and began to feel better.To feel safe.

Suddenly one day, out of the snow, a wolf appeared with pink wings like the morning mist at the break of dawn .Her gaze was gentle and wise. The girl was not scared .. well, a little.

The wolf invited the girl to climb on her back and fly through the sky above the forest. And so they did, they flew over the trees and she could see the fields that stretched into the distance, and she could feel the heat of the sun warm up her body … Oh, from up there you could easily see the paths to follow..
When they returned to the ground, the wolf put her snout on the back of the girl and pointed to two small, soft,tender wings, like hers. The girl did not know … she was so happy … she felt so blessed .. She had had them all along, but had not noticed .. Then, after that day she learned to fly with the winged wolf towards the sky!

La pequeña niña vivía en el bosque por un tiempo…al principio estaba muy asustada de cada pequeño ruido que escuchaba, cada animalito, cada movimiento detrás de un árbol, de una rama mecida por el viento…y durante la noche era peor! ni si quiera podía dormir!

Pero los días pasaron y poco a poco la niña se familiarizó con el bosque. Con sus habitantes, con cada piedra, cada sonido que provenía de él…y comenzó a sentirse bien. A sentirse a salvo.

De repente un día, de la nieve, apareció una loba, con alas rosadas como  el sol  cuando despunta al alba. Su mirada era gentil y sabia. La niña no estaba asustada..bueno, un poquito.

La loba la invitó a subir a su lomo y volar por el cielo,por encima del bosque. Y así hicieron, volaron por encima de los árboles y la niña pudo ver los campos que se extendían a lo lejos, y pudo sentir el calor del sol calentar su cuerpo…Y los caminos, desde tan alto se podía ver bien cuáles seguir..

Cuando regresaron al suelo, la loba acercó su hocico a la espalda de la niña y le señaló dos pequeñas y suaves alas, como las suyas. La niña no lo sabía…estaba tan contenta…tan feliz..Las había tenía todo el tiempo,pero no se había dado cuenta..Entonces, después de ese día la niña aprendió a volar con la loba alada por los cielos.
