Hoy crearemos un juego de carta y sobre  con un personaje holandés que gusta a tod@s por su diseño tierno y sencillo  : )

For this project I used a stamp with lots of cute little “miffys” But just stamping the upper part.

Para ello utilicé este sello de miffy,pero sólo estampando la parte de arriba

Then just color the bunnies if you´d like to add some color, but you can also leave them as they are : )

Some washi tape looks nice too : )

Es tan fácil como colorearlo después para que quede más alegre ,pero en blanco y negro también está bonito. : )

Un poco de washi tape.. ; ) y listo!

Here in the Uk they sell conmemorative stamps with the cute illustrations, like the ones above belonging to winnie pohh and Roald Dahl.

The hello kitty stamp is from china.

Aquí en Inglaterra venden sellos muy bonitos según estén celebrando algún aniversario de algún autor, como en el caso de arriba, Winnie pooh e ilustraciones de roal dahl

EL sello de hello kitty es de china de un pedido que hice hace mucho,tire todo el envoltorio pero me quedé con el sello que me pareció simpático.

Today we´ll decorate an envelope just the same way I would do if I were to write a letter to a friend : )

Hoy nos pondremos manos a la obra a decorar un sobre de la misma manera que lo hago cuando le escribo a una amiga : )

Así es que sin más demora, comencemos!

1.First I used some washi tape in pink and purple for the bottom of the envelope.

It makes it prettier and at the same tame adds “stability” to the drawing of the stamp.

Then I stamped the image of the two girls on the left corner.

1.- Primero pegué varias cintas de washi tape en la parte de abajo del sobre para decorar

y que a la vez haga de “suelo” de los personajes del sellito que estampé a continuación.

The next step is to color the inside of the stamp with the gel pens.

I chosed the same two colors plus a white one to have a nice color palette

El siguiente paso es colorear el sello con los bolis de gel o tinta.

Elegí Rosa y morado.  Y blanco!! Los mismos colores que el washi tape para que el conjunto armonice .

The stickers also add a fun touch. Specially if they have simple designs and bold colors.

In this case they need just to complement and not gain all the attention, as this is focused on the two girls.

Stars, hearts, dots…They are easy to get and very adaptable.

Las pegatinas quedan  también fenomenal. Sobretodo si son de motivos sencillos y colores planos.

Ya que de esta manera sólo van a complementar el resto del diseño y no a robar protagonismo.

Corazones, estrellitas, puntitos de colores. Son pegatinas fáciles de conseguir y muy versátiles.

If you have bought the postal stamp you are going to use , you can do the following thing..

Si tenéis comprado el sello para vuestra carta,podéis hacer lo siguiente..

Stick it and draw around it s imple drawing.

Pegarlo y dibujar alrededor algún motivo sencillo.

And inside the envelope?

We can also add some surprises..

Some inspiring words, a simlpe drawing like a sun  rising, a flower, a bird flying out…are some ideas

Y dentro del sobre?

También ahí podemos utilizarlo para que al abrirlo nuestra amig@ se tope con más sorpresas.

Una frase bonita e inspiradora, un dibujo sencillo, como en este caso un sol “saliendo” desde dentro o una flor, un pájaro..son algunas ideas.

SOme times I even add some glitter!

I thinks its fun! It will surely be messy once the envelope its opened but I´m sure your friends wont mind.

If it makes them smile then thats what this is about : )

Pero ahí no se acaba la cosa! muchas veces meto un poco de purpurina dentro del sobre en los mismos tonos!

Un toqué divertido y espontáneo que le ensuciará el suelo a tu amig@  ,pero que seguro l@ hara sonreir ! : ) y de eso se trata!!!

No es necesario gastar mucho dinero para conseguir crear unas cartas bonitas y como se suele decir “resultonas” jeje

Washi tape

As you already know, washi tape is one of my favorite tools! Versatile, pretty and one single roll can provide meters and meters of fun ; )

You can find bold colors, animals, flowers, stripes..Not so long ago I dedicated a whole week to washi tape, in case you want to take a look at it : )

L@s que me conocéis sabéis que es de mis materiales favoritos! Vérsátiles, bonitos ..y lo mejor es que un sólo rollito da para muuucho!

Los hay de colores lisos, estampados, con animalitos, florecitas,…Hace tiempo que dediqué una semana al washi tape por si os interesa repasarlo ; )

Gel pens

Any color gel pen will do and they sell them everywhere! The ones above are from the brand Uniball and Staedtler

Bolis

Los que más os gusten. De gel, de tinta..cualquiera vale. Yo creo que en cualquier papelería los venden.

Los que yo utilizo son los de Uni-ball y Staedtler

Cardboard

One single sheet of a colored cardboard can be cut into many many cards. The craft cardboard is my favorite because the colors look so vivid!

The illustration of the flower ( above) was made using  gel pens and wooden colored pencils.

Cartulinas de colores

Una sola hoja da para muchas cartas y tarjetas. Las de papel craft son mis favoritas porque los colores vivos resaltan mucho.

La tarjeta de arriba por ejemplo es un dibujito que pinté con bolis de gel y lápices de colores

Color envelopes

I found a pack of 10 neon pink envelopes at a very cheap store in Spain. Only 60 cents!

I wish I could give you an address where you could find these, but I dont know of any. Still they are very very simple envelopes and I´m sure they wont be hard to find at craft stores .

And if you dont, dont worry! Just gran a sheet of paper of any color of your choice and make your own envelope using as template any envelope you have at home : )

Sobres de colores

Paseando por una tienda de “todo a cien ” (“chino” ) en España, ví éstos sobres de colores rosa neón que me encantaron!

También los había amarillos, verdes, azules..un paquete de 10 por 60 céntimos!

Pero si no los encontráis no os precupéis porque siempre los podéis hacer vosotr@s! Sólo utilizad una hoja de papel del color que os guste y una plantilla de un sobre que tengáis en casa para crear así vuestro sobre.

Una libreta con hojas en blanco u hojas sueltas, para escribir la carta y poder decorarla a nuestro gusto

I´ve been a fan of Elsita Mora for a while now.

She is one of those artists who are so good at everything they do ! its really amazing!

From porcelain, to painting, miniature books..and one of my favorites : paper cuts!

I´ve been very inspired by her beautiful paper cuts and so I carved a little stamp …

Hace tiempo que sigo el trabajo MARAVILLOSO de Elsita Mora.

Pocas artistas hay como ella que abarquen tantas formas de expresión y además destaquen!

Elsita se atreve con todo! Desde trabajos con porcelana, libros en miniatura, muñecas hechas a mano, pintura y..uno de mis favoritos: los recortes de papel!

Siempre me han inspirado muchísímo y desde hace tiempo  quería probar a carvar un sellito inspirado en uno de sus trabajos…

I thought the idea of little animals together holding flowers was irresitible!

So with the permission of Elsita, here is my humble little version..

Esta idea de los animalitos, las florecitas me pareció irresistible

y con el permiso de Elsita, carvé mi pequeña y humilde versión ..

I´m happy with the result : ) I enjoy so much carving! its fun and meditative!

With this stamp I decorated a little notepad so you could see better the result.

Estoy contenta con el resultado : ) Cada vez disfruto más carvar; es muy entretenido y relajante : )

Con este sellito es que decoré una pequeña libreta, para que viérais mejor el resultado.

For that purspose I used my favorite pens to color the stamp.

I like these because when they dry you get this really nice matt finish.

Para ello, utilicé mis bolis favoritos japoneses de Uni-ball,

ya que cuando se secan queda un color mate  que cubre además muy bien .

Its fun to give some color to the stamps : )

y qué puedo decir …que además, me gusta colorear los sellitos : )

And here is the final result! just add some washi tape and voilá!

You need for this proyect three simple things:

Permanent ink

Prácticamente lo que necesitáis son tres cosas:

tinta permanente

sellos

piedras o algo en lo que estampar

I loved the washed sandered stones the sea brings to the shore..they are so lovely and feel so soft in the palm of the hand..

They are perfect just how they are…and also as a craft material!

Me encantan las piedras pulidas que arrastra el mar..es una delicia sostenarlas en la mano y sentir su suavidad..

Las piedras por sí solas son perfectas y no necesitan más adornos,pero como material para una manualidad también son ideal : )

When you stamp, be careful not to move your hand or the image will come out blurry, and

because its permanent ink, you wont be able to whipe it off!

Hay que tener cuidado a la hora de estampar porque como es tinta permanente,

si uno se mueve un poquito la imagen puede quedar mal

You could make some xmas tree ornaments (maybe next winter)

o simply hang on the window or door knob.

Se podrían hacer adornos con esta técnica para el árbol de navidad..( quizá para el próximo invierno)

o simplemente para colgar en la ventana o en el pomo de una  puerta..

or you could also give it as a gift to someone special with a noce message : )

hmm, I still cant remember if I already talked about this!..well, at least I hope you enjoyed it and feel like trying it at home!

I just realized I havent showed you the new stamps I ´ve carved!

As I have said before, I alternate disciplines ; )

There are times when all I want to do is sew, or knitt,or paint…It has been a while since I carved a stamp!

So its all I´ve been doing since two weekes ago! I believe I have made at least a dozen of new stamps!

Me he dado cuenta de que hace mucho tiempo que no os enseño sellos de los que he carvado nuevos!

Como ya he dicho en otras ocasiones, voy alternando disciplinas ; )

Hay temporadas en que no dejo de coser, otras de tejer, otras de pintar …. y llevaba ya un tiempo sin carvar!

Pero desde hace un par de semanas que me entró el mono y  he carvado al menos una docena de sellos nuevos! : )

Yesterday I started carving one I had in my mind long time ago..A kitty walking on the roofs : )

..que por supuesto os iré enseñando poco a poco!

Ayer empecé a carvar uno que desde hace tiempo tenía dibujado..Un gatito caminando por los tejados : )

I cant wait to see the final result!

You know, in every stamp carving workshop I teach, we all agree on one thing: Carving is relaxing and meditative!

What can I say? ; ) I´m  happy carving! Watching how  out of a pink block the most funny and curious stamps appear! : )

Qué ganas tengo de terminarlo! ya os enseñaré qué tal queda! ; )

Sabéis? En los talleres de sellos todo el mundo está siempre  de acuerdo en una cosa:   carvar es relajante y meditativo!

Qué os puedo decir yo? ; ) soy feliz carvando y ver cómo de un bloque rosa salen los personajes más curiosos y divertidos : )

Oh yes! with Monica´s studio!! Just my kind of place! White walls, plenty of light, cosy and charming..It was perfect for the workshop!oh so lovely!!

Antes que nada dejadme deciros que lo pasé INCREIBLE!! Fue realmente un fin de semana maravilloso!!!

Por dónde empiezo!??

Ah sí!! por el precioso estudio de Mónica donde se impartío el taller!

Justo el tipo de lugar que me gusta: blanco, luminoso, acogedor..! Fue el sitio ideal!

I love to prepare the tables with the material for the different activities and the goodie bags with all the tools we would need ! : )

I just have nice words to THANK them for their positive attitude! So sweet, endearing, enthusiastic…

I´m not  exagerating when I say they were all WONDERFUL and that they made the workshop a VERY special day!! : )
