I like to write letters to my friends as often as I can.

Sometimes I use conventional envelopes,but in other ocassions I make them my self to give that special personal touch.

Its so simple…here´s a little tutorial for you : )

A mí me gusta escribir mucho a mano.Mando cartas a todas mis amigas siempre que puedo.

A veces utilizo sobres comprados pero en otras ocasiones los hago yo misma cuando quiero darle un toque más personal y especial.

Today I want to share an easy peasy tutorial : )

How to use an eyelet punch!

The thing is I have discovered this tool recently even though I had seen it many many times before and was curious on how tu use it.

Ok, so, for this tutorial you will need:

Hoy quiero compartiros un sencillo tutorial que espero que os guste!

Se trata de realizar unas sencillas etiquetas con anillas metálicas.

Lo cierto que es que hace poco que comenzé a utilizarlas aunque ya las había visto muchas veces y me preguntaba cómo  se ponían.

Para este tutorial necesitaréis:

Eyelet puncher

You can find them easily at hardware stores.

Eyelets

A little bag with eyelets normally comes with the tool when you buy it.

Scissors

Cardboard

I used one from a package

Pencil

And something to trace a circle with

ok, so lets start..

Alicate ojetero

Se puede conseguir online aquí o qué creéis? en los chinos de España ví que los venden!

Así es que por una vez, no será una herramienta de esas difíciles de conseguir!: )

Anillas metálicas

Las suelen vender con el alicate ojetero.

Tijeras

cartulina

( yo aproveché el cartón de un envío)

Lápiz

Algo con lo que trazar un círculo. Yo utilicé una cinta para embalar

Comencemos…

1.

Trace a circle on the cardboard

1.-

Trazar una circunferencia en el cartón

2.-

Cut your tag with the scissors

2.-

Recortar la circunferencia con las tijeras

3.

a) place the eyelet on top of the “bumpy” part of the puncher.

b) place your cardboard in between the eyelet and puncher

c) Press firmly!  And there you have it! a cute tag! so easy!

3.-

a) Colocar la anilla metálica sobre la parte protuberante del alicate.

b) Situar la cartulina en medio y presionar con fuerza.

c) listo! ya tenemos nuestra anilla colocada! a que es fácil? : )

Then to make the tags look even nicer..

I used bakers twine..

Luego, para las etiquetas quedasen más bonitas…

utilicé bakers twine para pasarlo por las anillas

and three of my favorite craft supplies:

washi tape, uniball pens, and rubber stamps ( I used the ones I bought from ebay)

y tres de mis “herramientas” favoritas:

washi tape, bolis de uniball y sellos! ( en esta ocasión utilicé los que compré por ebay)

Next step: embellish them! : )

For the first tag I did one of Mayu´s mt bows ( post here)

and a raccoon and cat rubber stamp.

For the second one I simply placed the mt all along the bottom of it and a cute ” muffin-girl” stamp.

siguiente paso: embellecer al gusto! : )

Para la etiqueta de arriba me animé con uno de los lacitos de Mayu ( post aquí)

y un sellito de gatitos y mapaches.

Para la segunda simplemente coloqué el washi tape en tiras una al lado de la otra y un sellito muy mono de una “niña-pastelito”.

As you could see, everything is so so simple.But most of the times, simple is better, right ; )

For this tutorial you will need:

-Pencil for drawing

-Sketchbook or any paper to draw your pumpkin

-Scissors

-Glue stick

-Glue in liquid form (Not pictured. I like to use Mono Aqua liquid glue by Tombow)

-Paper, this will be for your template (kraft, construction, printer paper, etc.

Lightweight papers work best, no thick cardstock. You will be cutting through this. I used kraft paper which was light in weight)

-Scrap paper in different patterns and colors (scrapbook paper works well)

-Blank greeting card

Para este tutorial necesitaréis:

lápiz para dibujar

papel o libreta para bozetar vuestra calabaza

tijeras

pegamento en barra

pegamento líquido

papel para hacer vuestra plantilla ( como papel kraft, de impresora,etc)

Papel de poco gramaje funciona mejor ya que lo tendréis que cortar.Yo utilicé papel craft)

papeles con diferentes dibujos y diseños.Los papeles de scrapbooking van muy bien.

Tarjetas blancas.

Paso 4 :

Ahora tendrás todas tus piezas. Dales la vuelta y colócalas como un puzzle.

Con tu pegamento líquido, pégalas a la tarjeta. Me gusta dejar un poco de espacio entre cada pieza.

Hello! As I promised last week, today I´m going to show you how to use a polaroid overlay ! : )

Hola! Como os prometí la semana pasada, hoy os ensañaré cómo utilizar un “overlay” de una polaroid! : )

It´s a neat way to embellish your photos and your posts and its pretty simple to achieve : )

Es una forma estética de embellecer vuestras fotos y posts y es muy fácil de lograr : )

1.- Open your polaroid image in photoshop.

1.- Abre tu imagen de polaroid en photoshop.

2.- Open also the photo you want to use.

2.- Abre también la foto que queréis utilizar.

3.- With the tool “rectangular frame” select all the black area on the polaroind and delete.

3.- Con la herramienta de “Marco rectangular” selecciona toda el área negra de la polaroid y elimínala dandole a la tecla suprimir en tu teclado.

4.- Go back to your photo and copy and paste into the polaroid document.

4.- Regresa a tu foto y cópiala y pégala en el documento en el que tienes abierta la polaroid.

5.- With the “free transformation tool” resize your image into the size that suits the polaroid frame.

5.- Con la herramienta de “transformación libre” dale a tu foto el tamaño que necesita para abarcar todo el marco de la polaroid.

6.- Now drag the layer of your photo under the layer where the polaroid is( the layers are shown in blue on the right).

6.- Ahora arrastra la capa de arriba ,la de la foto, debajo de la capa donde está el marco polaroid( Las capas son las que están en azul en la derecha).

and there you have it! A photo with a polaroid overlay : )

My crazy sewing weekend started on a lovely Friday afternoon while I was watching this video of Lotta Jansdotter …

Mi locura de coser este fin de semana horas y horas sin parar, comenzó el Viernes por la tarde. Tranquilamente miraba este video que Lotta Jansdotter hizo para Rowenta y esa fue mi “perdición ” ; )

I loved this video- tutorial  because it explains in a very simple way, how to sew these pot holders or coasters in  patchwork style . The best thing  about it, is that you can use your remnants of fabric from other projects, so its a great way to recycle!  … love the idea! So after who knows how many hours of cutting fabric watching the video,sewing,watching  the video again, and more sewing … this was the result:

Este video-tutorial me encantó porque explica de manera muy  sencilla,cómo coser estos “agarra ollas” estilo patchwork  y aunque está en inglés, se entiende todo muy bien. Lo mejor es que es muy divertido elegir las telas que vas a combinar y que puedas utilizar los trocitos de tela de otros proyectos, aprovechas y reciclas!…todo en esta idea es genial!Por eso quién sabe cuántas horas después de cortar tela, ver el video,coser,ver el video otra vez, y más coser…este fue el resultado:

These were sewn with remants of japanese fabrics, vintage fabrics and my own japanese bunnies! You all know how much I love the japanese aesthetic! so it was very easy for me to concieve pot holders with this in mind! ; )

I love this idea because its a great way to reuse empty glass jars!

why throw them away now ,when you can turn them into pretty flower vases, or pencil cases!So lovely! And if you get tired of the colors you can change them so easily!

Me encanta esta idea porque implica reutilizar los botes vacíos de cristal!

Por qué tirarlos cuando se pueden convertir en preciosos jarrones, o lapiceros! qué bonito! Y si os cansáis de los colores se pueden cambiar tan fácilmente!

Two packaging examples from the MT site. Its amazing how  little bits of MT enhance the whole package! It reminds me of my cookie bag! only that this one has donuts mmm : )

for the second one: Add some string, and a tag and you´ll have a cheap and lovely package in no time! ( I´ve also seen a version of wrapping with a piece of fabric very similar to this one)

Love this idea! so simple and easy ! just stick a piece of MT to a peg and  glue some magnets on the back to hold your notes on the fridge!

I´m off to try this one right away. And in case you are wondering on where to buy small magnets strong enough to hold the pegs and the notes, here´s a link to an etsy shop! : )

Y esta idea qué os parece? muy original, no? y tan fácil de hacer! Pegad unos trozos de MT a las pinzas y luego unos imanes pequeñitos a la parte de atrás de la misma para que puedan sujetar notas o dibujos en la nevera!

Voy a intentar esta idea ahora mismo! Y en caso de que os preguntéis dónde conseguir imanes tan pequeños y fuertes que aguanten el peso…aquí os dejo un link a una tienda de etsy. Son los mismos imanes que utilicé para los cantos de cristal! son muy muy fuertes.

The handmade revolution we are experiencing this days is about buying less and doing more with our own hands!

Instead of buying wrapping paper and just being able to use it for wraping paper..invest your money in  art supplies that will be able to boost your creativity and have LOADS of fun while in the process of making!

The satisfaction of having it done by yourself and its uniqueness is so worth it : )

La revolución de lo “hecho a mano” que vivimos estos días consiste en cada vez comprar menos y hacer más con nuestras manos!

En lugar de comprar papel para envolver regalos y sólo utilizarlo para envolver, yo prefiero invertir el dinero en diversos materiales para manualidades que potencian la creatividad en todo momento y siempre son  actividades muy divertidas. Sí, sigue siendo comprar,pero no objetos, sino herramientas : )

Estos preciosos envoltorios de essimar con MT son la prueba de ello!únicos en su especie!

La satisfacción de hacer algo por uno mismo es enorme! y el resultado único! : )

Today I have one project + one idea….

Hoy tengo un proyecto + una idea…

Today we´ll embellish a cookie bag with MT! And make a sweet present for a friend or family or neighbour! : )

Hoy embelleceremos una bolsita de galletas con MT! Y haremos un regalo “dulce” para algún amig@, familia o vecin@!

Easy steps:

1.-First I made an envelope with baking paper-the common one they sale at the supermarket- .

I just traced the template on top of a real envelope and cut it out,then glue the parts that go together.

(although you could use a clear  bag or  glassine bags for this project too : )

2.- I glued these tag of Cath Kidston I had on the front

Pasos sencillos:

1.- Primero hice un sobre con papel de hornear -lo venden en los supers- trazando la plantilla con un sobre .

Luego lo recorté, pegué las solapas y listo, ya tenía bolsita! ( aunque también podríais utilizar una ya hecha de esas transparentes o de las llamadas “glassine” en inglés, que ahora no me sale el nombre en español,pero son estas)

2.- Pegué estas etiquetas de Cath Kidston en el frente.

3.- Then the MT …little pieces all around the tag. I choosed a pale pink, polka dot pink and a couple of grey ( can be found here)

3.- Luego el MT…pequeños trocitos alrededor de la etiqueta. Elegí rosa pálido, topos también rosas y un par de grises para contrastar ( los podéis adquirir aquí )

4-The ideal thing would be to fill the bags with homemade chocolate chip cookies here! but…i didn´t find the time! So lets pretend they are actually homebaked with love ; )

4.-Lo ideal sería llenar las bolsitas con galletas caseras!pero…no saqué el tiempo la verad…así es que pretendamos por un momento que son caseras y hechas con mucho amor ; )

When I finished embellishing the bags it occurred to me to make some tags for you to print and use! It was a late idea so I didnt get to use them myself-the photos were already taken and edited- but here they are! you can now embellish your own cookie bags or anything you like : ) ♥

Cuando terminé de hacer las bolsitas se me ocurrió crear un par de etiquetitas para descargar en el blog. Así que como fue una idea post-proyecto ya no alcancé a utilizar las etiquetas yo! Pero aquí las tenéis para que las bolsitas o cualquier otra cosa queden bien : ) ♥

This are some of my childhood photos, my childhood memories,pure bliss ! ♥

For a very long time I had them stored away inside a shoe box until now, I thought it would be nice to have them displayed for a while.

Éstas son algunas de mis fotos de la infancia! recuerdos de pura felicidad! ♥

Durante mucho tiempo las tuve guardadas en una caja de zapatos, hasta ahora!… pensé en buscarles otro lugar donde poder contemplarlas.

No need to explain here right ? ; )

Just find a spot where you would like to see them regularly ( away from the sun of course) and stick them with little pieces of MT; if they are with different patterns and colors much better!

No hace falta ninguna explicación aqui ; ) sólo buscarte un trocito de pared donde te gustaría verlas a menudo ( lejos del sol, eso sí) y pegarlas con trocitos de MT. Si son de colores diferentes mejor!
