Esta semana quiero compartiros todo lo que yo hago para escribir mis cartas : )

Empezando con el post de hoy  titulado : Herramientas Básicas

Firts of all I´d like to say its not necessary to spend much to be able to create lovely stationery

Above you can see the basic material I use .

No es necesario gastar mucho dinero para conseguir crear unas cartas bonitas y como se suele decir “resultonas” jeje

Washi tape

As you already know, washi tape is one of my favorite tools! Versatile, pretty and one single roll can provide meters and meters of fun ; )

You can find bold colors, animals, flowers, stripes..Not so long ago I dedicated a whole week to washi tape, in case you want to take a look at it : )

L@s que me conocéis sabéis que es de mis materiales favoritos! Vérsátiles, bonitos ..y lo mejor es que un sólo rollito da para muuucho!

Los hay de colores lisos, estampados, con animalitos, florecitas,…Hace tiempo que dediqué una semana al washi tape por si os interesa repasarlo ; )

Gel pens

Any color gel pen will do and they sell them everywhere! The ones above are from the brand Uniball and Staedtler

Bolis

Los que más os gusten. De gel, de tinta..cualquiera vale. Yo creo que en cualquier papelería los venden.

Los que yo utilizo son los de Uni-ball y Staedtler

Cardboard

One single sheet of a colored cardboard can be cut into many many cards. The craft cardboard is my favorite because the colors look so vivid!

The illustration of the flower ( above) was made using  gel pens and wooden colored pencils.

Cartulinas de colores

Una sola hoja da para muchas cartas y tarjetas. Las de papel craft son mis favoritas porque los colores vivos resaltan mucho.

La tarjeta de arriba por ejemplo es un dibujito que pinté con bolis de gel y lápices de colores

Color envelopes

I found a pack of 10 neon pink envelopes at a very cheap store in Spain. Only 60 cents!

I wish I could give you an address where you could find these, but I dont know of any. Still they are very very simple envelopes and I´m sure they wont be hard to find at craft stores .

And if you dont, dont worry! Just gran a sheet of paper of any color of your choice and make your own envelope using as template any envelope you have at home : )

Sobres de colores

Paseando por una tienda de “todo a cien ” (“chino” ) en España, ví éstos sobres de colores rosa neón que me encantaron!

También los había amarillos, verdes, azules..un paquete de 10 por 60 céntimos!

Pero si no los encontráis no os precupéis porque siempre los podéis hacer vosotr@s! Sólo utilizad una hoja de papel del color que os guste y una plantilla de un sobre que tengáis en casa para crear así vuestro sobre.

Qué ganas y qué ilusión!!

As I have said before, I alternate disciplines ; )

There are times when all I want to do is sew, or knitt,or paint…It has been a while since I carved a stamp!

So its all I´ve been doing since two weekes ago! I believe I have made at least a dozen of new stamps!

Me he dado cuenta de que hace mucho tiempo que no os enseño sellos de los que he carvado nuevos!

Como ya he dicho en otras ocasiones, voy alternando disciplinas ; )

Hay temporadas en que no dejo de coser, otras de tejer, otras de pintar …. y llevaba ya un tiempo sin carvar!

Pero desde hace un par de semanas que me entró el mono y  he carvado al menos una docena de sellos nuevos! : )

Yesterday I started carving one I had in my mind long time ago..A kitty walking on the roofs : )

..que por supuesto os iré enseñando poco a poco!

Ayer empecé a carvar uno que desde hace tiempo tenía dibujado..Un gatito caminando por los tejados : )

I cant wait to see the final result!

You know, in every stamp carving workshop I teach, we all agree on one thing: Carving is relaxing and meditative!

What can I say? ; ) I´m  happy carving! Watching how  out of a pink block the most funny and curious stamps appear! : )

Qué ganas tengo de terminarlo! ya os enseñaré qué tal queda! ; )

Sabéis? En los talleres de sellos todo el mundo está siempre  de acuerdo en una cosa:   carvar es relajante y meditativo!

Qué os puedo decir yo? ; ) soy feliz carvando y ver cómo de un bloque rosa salen los personajes más curiosos y divertidos : )

I like to write letters to my friends as often as I can.

Sometimes I use conventional envelopes,but in other ocassions I make them my self to give that special personal touch.

Its so simple…here´s a little tutorial for you : )

A mí me gusta escribir mucho a mano.Mando cartas a todas mis amigas siempre que puedo.

A veces utilizo sobres comprados pero en otras ocasiones los hago yo misma cuando quiero darle un toque más personal y especial.

Es tan sencillo…he aquí un pequeño tutorial  : )

5.-Use different stamp for the corner and color !

Today I want to share an easy peasy tutorial : )

How to use an eyelet punch!

The thing is I have discovered this tool recently even though I had seen it many many times before and was curious on how tu use it.

Ok, so, for this tutorial you will need:

Hoy quiero compartiros un sencillo tutorial que espero que os guste!

Se trata de realizar unas sencillas etiquetas con anillas metálicas.

Lo cierto que es que hace poco que comenzé a utilizarlas aunque ya las había visto muchas veces y me preguntaba cómo  se ponían.

Para este tutorial necesitaréis:

Eyelet puncher

You can find them easily at hardware stores.

Eyelets

A little bag with eyelets normally comes with the tool when you buy it.

Scissors

Cardboard

I used one from a package

Pencil

And something to trace a circle with

ok, so lets start..

Alicate ojetero

Se puede conseguir online aquí o qué creéis? en los chinos de España ví que los venden!

Así es que por una vez, no será una herramienta de esas difíciles de conseguir!: )

Anillas metálicas

Las suelen vender con el alicate ojetero.

Tijeras

cartulina

( yo aproveché el cartón de un envío)

Lápiz

Algo con lo que trazar un círculo. Yo utilicé una cinta para embalar

Comencemos…

1.

Trace a circle on the cardboard

1.-

Trazar una circunferencia en el cartón

2.-

Cut your tag with the scissors

2.-

Recortar la circunferencia con las tijeras

3.

a) place the eyelet on top of the “bumpy” part of the puncher.

b) place your cardboard in between the eyelet and puncher

c) Press firmly!  And there you have it! a cute tag! so easy!

3.-

a) Colocar la anilla metálica sobre la parte protuberante del alicate.

b) Situar la cartulina en medio y presionar con fuerza.

c) listo! ya tenemos nuestra anilla colocada! a que es fácil? : )

Then to make the tags look even nicer..

I used bakers twine..

Luego, para las etiquetas quedasen más bonitas…

utilicé bakers twine para pasarlo por las anillas

and three of my favorite craft supplies:

washi tape, uniball pens, and rubber stamps ( I used the ones I bought from ebay)

y tres de mis “herramientas” favoritas:

washi tape, bolis de uniball y sellos! ( en esta ocasión utilicé los que compré por ebay)

Next step: embellish them! : )

For the first tag I did one of Mayu´s mt bows ( post here)

and a raccoon and cat rubber stamp.

For the second one I simply placed the mt all along the bottom of it and a cute ” muffin-girl” stamp.

siguiente paso: embellecer al gusto! : )

Para la etiqueta de arriba me animé con uno de los lacitos de Mayu ( post aquí)

y un sellito de gatitos y mapaches.

Para la segunda simplemente coloqué el washi tape en tiras una al lado de la otra y un sellito muy mono de una “niña-pastelito”.

As you could see, everything is so so simple.But most of the times, simple is better, right ; )

Me fui cargadita de regalitos hechos a mano por ellas!no podrían gustarme más!! ♥♥

Hoy os quiero compartir dos de ellos..pero hay muchos más que os seguiré mostrando ! ; )

The first one is this zipper pouch of the wizard of oz! Made by a dear friend !

She sure knows my taste  because  I LOVE it!

El primero es este estuche cosido con telas japonesas del Mago de Oz! hecho por una querida amiga !

Dio completamente en el clavo! Es PRECIOSO!

You could tell all the love put into every stitch!..it came out perfect! ♥

Se notaba el cariño puesto en cada puntada..le quedó perfecto! ♥

And to make it even more beautiful she used  a matching blue gingham fabric for the lining!

Thank you so much sweet friend! Its a treasure I´ll always cherish!!♥♥♥

Y para hacerlo aun más bonito, por dentro estaba revestido con tela de cuadritos azules..me encanta!!

Is another handcarved stamp I made inspired my animal characters from my kids story books…but with some modifications.

Es otro sello que carvé inspirado en animalitos de los cuentos de mis hijos,pero con algunas modificaciones.

I used it specially to create a card for my dear friend Pepi : )

Lo utilicé para realizar una tarjeta para mi amiga Pepi a la que quiero mucho : )

The carving block doesn´t look very..hmmmm nice? kind of messy in fact with all those mixed colors..but it does look great once its stamped : )

oh and the tiny flowers… finger print stamps! remember this post?

La goma carvada en cuestión no se ve muy atractiva la verdd, sobretodo con todos esos colores… : S Pero ya estampado queda bien : )

Also I wanted to thank you once again for the enthusiastic response to my first workshop in Madrid!! It´s almost full!

It´s going to be such an amazing day! Carving stamps is one part of the workshop, but I have also planned many more fun crafts using stamps and create lovely things  and hopefully have a blast! : )

Cant wait ´til October!!

Muchas, muchisimas gracias por vuestra respuesta tan amable acerca del taller de carvado de sellos que voy a impartir en Madrid!! Ya están casi las plazas cubiertas!

Va a ser una jornada maravillosa!! El carvado de sellos en el taller es una parte- la más importante- pero tengo planeadas muchas más manualidades en los que los utilizaremos para crear y crear y divertirnos muchisimo! : ) no puedo esperar a que llegue Octubre!!

Thats why my handmade finds for today are inspired by the green of the forests and the rain.

It says on the label of the candle, down there that it has a “rain forest” scent. Never smelled a candle like that before. Have you? seems interesting

Últimamente ha llovido mucho por aquí y aunque me encantan los días de sol, disfruto tanto del frescor de la lluvia!

De cómo huele la tierra , del sonido de cada gota, y ver cómo el viento hace bailar los árboles…:D

Por eso, mi selección de hoy de cosas “hechas a mano” está inspirada por el verde de los bosques y el olor de la lluvia : La vela de abajo dice que huele a lluvia! nunca he olido una vela que tuviera ese olor! y vosotros? debe ser interesante!
