Hello! Today I have the pleasure to invite you into my studio. It was the third thing I managed to get ready after the kitchen and my kids bedroom!

I was very excited to dive into this new project for my self, creating a new space for me into which feel inspired and ready to work and so it has! Im very glad to start painting and creating again! the soul needs it!

So here, take a peek into the “before” photo of the room…At the moment you simply dont know what box to open or where to start!

HOla! Hoy quiero mostraros finalmente mi estudio. Es lo tercero que termine en la casa despues de la cocina y la habitacion de mis hijos!

Estaba muy entusiasmada de meterme en este proyecto por unos dias y crear un nuevo espacio para mi en el que sentirme inspirada y lista para trabajar y asi ha sido!

Estoy muy contenta de poder volver a pintar y crear de nuevo! El alma lo necesita!

Asi es que echad un vistazo a la foto del “antes”..En el momento ya no sabes ni que hacer con tantas cajas, por donde empezar..

with a little effort and a quick visit to Ikea for a table and a shelf..you can finally see some good results!

COn un poco de esfuerzo y una rapida visita a Ikea por una mesa y una estanteria finalmente pude ver resultados!

Its such a nice feeling to get your things out of the box!

Se siente tan bien no tener cajas por medio y que tus cosas vean la luz!

The sofa was a cheap buy from the previous tenant. Its perfect for this room, because sometimes when I paint, the kids seat there and pretend to read..ehem. Other times they just jump up and down and play and get wild and crazy and so I have to tell them to go to another room..but its  useless they keep coming back!

El sofa lo compramos muy barato al antiguo arrendatario. Es ideal porque a veces cuando pinto, mis hijos se sientan ahi y hacen como que leen…ejem..Otras veces slatan encima y juegan a peleitas y se vuelven locos y salvajes..entonces les tengo que pedir que se vayan a otra habitacion..pero terminan regresando y la historia se repite!

I fell in love with this chair the moment I saw it at a charity shop for ten pounds. All I did was paint it white and I really like how it looks!

Me enamore de esta silla en una tienda de muebles usados. El dinero de la venta es para caridad. Fueron 10 libras. La pinte y listo, me encanta como se ve!

I didnt know what to use this corner for, until I thought it would be great for having my favorite books in hand.

No sabia que hacer con esta esquina, hasta que pense que podria estar bien para colocar mis libros favoritos  y tenerlos a mano.
My studio was actually the dinning room. The living room and kitchen is right beside it…but since the living room is big enough for having there the dining table, I could keep this room! yay!

Mi estudio era en realidad el comedor. Como podeis ver en la foto, la cocina y el salon estan al lado,pero como es lo suficientemente grande, pude quedarme el estudio para mi! bien! : )

Me encantan ver los libros y diarios con portadas bonitas, son una fuente de inspiracion visual!And of course theres always room for orchids! To be honest, this is the same one from the kitchen…But I plan to have one here, so Lets pretend it was already this one : D

well, so this was the mini tour..Now why dont you come in and have some tea with me! perhaps we can talk about what inspires us and get crafty too!!

Y claro, siempre hay espacio para mas orquideas! Bueno, para ser honesta, es la misma de la cocina, pero planeo comprar otra para mi estudio, asi es que pretendamos que ya la tengo : D

Bueno, pues este es el mini tour! Ahora bien, por que no venis y nos tomamos una taza de te,mientras hablamos de lo que nos inspira y hacemos algo creativo?

I’m still thinking about last fridays post. How to achieve more spending less. When we moved from Spain we had to sell all our furniture. It was too expensive to take it with us. The only “”furniture” I did bring with me was my white mirror. It was a “free” find and  in such a good condition. I almost felt sorry for it, why would someone dump such a beautiful mirror? But on the other hand,good thing they did, because I found it! all it needed was a fresh coat of white paint and a little bit of love to make it look this pretty! Any way, we have to get new furniture for the new house here, and all at once can be a lot of money. Good thing they have pretty nice flea markets here!

Todavia estoy pensando en el ultimo post del Viernes. Como conseguir mas, gastando menos. Cuando nos mudamos de Espana tuvimos que vender todos nuestros muebles. Era demasiado caro llevarnoslos. La unica pieza que si me lleve, fue mi espejo redondo. Lo encontre tirado en la calle en tan perfecto estado. Casi hasta me dio lastima por el. Por que alguien tiraria un espejo tan grande y bonito? quiza tambien se mudaban. Pero que bueno que lo hicieran porque asi me lo quede yo! Todo lo que ncesitaba era un par de capas de pintura y un poquito de amor para que quedara asi de bonito.

Bueno, pues como decia, comprar de nuevo todos los muebles aqui puede salir caro, que bien que tengan rastros muy interesantes!

Also, these photos I selected for today get me thinking about being creative on a budget..Its not what you have, is how you use it..I already said that..I know, but just look at how nice these old things are displayed ( first photo to the right), or how beautiful this handmade  cushion looks. And the flowers, they really make a place look so cozy..freshly picked flowers from the garden. A Whole bunch in a flower vase or just a single one in a cup, placed by the window sill..wow! to me simplicity is the mother of beauty! And just take a look at the papier mache bowls….stunning! This is what I mean about being creative! !!! You dont need to spend so much money, just get creative! here are some ideas you can try at home.At last but not least the beautiful stretched fabric on the canvas. The last photo to the right. Art doesnt need to be expensive either. Another idea on how to frame fabric can be found here.

Well, so this are things that certainly get me going.. I’ll try as many of these as I can! thats for sure! I hope this has inspired you to make your own home more cozy and unique!!!!! have a beautiful ( and creative) day friends!!!!

Estas fotos que he seleccionado para hoy me hacen pensar en ser creativo cuando se tiene un presupuesto…no es lo que tienes sino como lo utilizas…ya lo he dicho antes, lo se, pero mirad estos objetos viejos que bien se ven ( primera foto a la derecha) o el cojin de abajo, cosido a mano. y las flores, siempre hacen que una habitacion se vea tan acogedora. Un monton puestas en un jarron o una sola en un tazon apoyada en la ventana..wow! la simplicidad es la madre de las cosas bellas. Y observad a los cuencos de papel mache…increibles! A esto me refiero con ser creativo. NO se necesita gastar tanto para poner la casa bonita. Solo hace flata un poco de imaginacion, creatividad y buenas ideas. Aqui os muestro algunas que podeis intentar en casa. Modificadlas a vuestro gusto! Y por ultimo pero no menos bonito, la tela que se ha enmarcado para hacerla parecer una pintura.Es la ultima foto de abajo a la derecha. El “arte! no tiene porque ser tan caro. Una tela bonita puede hacer maravillas! otra idea de enmarcar tela la podeis encontrar aqui.

Bueno, estas son las cosas que me hacen estar activa..intentare tantas ideas de estas como pueda, eso seguro! Espero que os haya inspirado a vosotros tambien a tener un espacio mas acogedor y unico! que tengais un dia creativamente maravilloso!

I´m enjoying right now some sunshine that has managed to avoid the clouds…oh how I´m longing for spring and some warm air.

Strawberry season is just around the corner and we are beggining to spot the first ones…here are some for breakfast, served with herbal tea and biscuits, the ones my kids didn´t like-but bought because of the cute shaped animals forms.

They are supposed to be gluten free, sugar free, and anything else you can imagine. But they dont taste that bad…..at least not with tea ; )

Estoy disfrutando ahora mismo de algunos rayos de sol que han sido capaces de evitar las nubes…cuánto anhelo la primavera y un poco- sólo un poco- de aire más cálido.

La temporada de fresas está a la vuelta de la esquina y empezamos a ver las primeras..aquí tengo algunas para desayunar, acompañadas con té de hierbas y galletas, las que a mis hijos nos les gustaron. Se supone que son sin gluten, sin azúcar  y todo lo “sin” que se pueda imaginar. Pero no saben tan mal…..por lo menos no con té  ; )

Siempre que pinto, mis hijos lo quieren hacer conmigo. Solían tener todas sus pinturas en cubos como el de la foto de abajo, pero les costaba mucho trabajo encontrar el color en cuestión y tenían que tirar todos los colores al suelo o encima de la mesa.  Por eso cuando fuimos a Ikea y vi estos botecitos para los cubiertos, se me ocurrió que podían también servir para los colores de los niños. Les encantó! y a mí también. No sólo es fácil encontrar lo que buscan sino que recoger es lo mejor!

Every time I paint, my kids want to join me. They used to have their painting supplies in buckets like the one shown below, but it was always hard for them to find the colour that they need it with out having to throw all the colors on the floor. That´s why when we went to Ikea and saw this storage solution for forks and spoons, I thought of the kids and how we could use it to put all their art supplies in here. They loved it! and so do I! It´s not only easy to find the colour they need but also to clean it up, no dificulty at all.
